For the love of gifts GiVeAwAy!

Hi. This is my first post after Christmas. How does it feel you ask?

Brilliant! Because even though the family festivities are over I still have my other family.

So since I’m on the topic of family we should talk. That’s right, I consider you family. You are my other family.

I want to show my love and appreciation for you all. Which naturally means…

A Giveaway!!!!

Thank you for helping me get to 1000 followers. I am under a year of blogging and you all were sweet enough to stop by my pad give a quick hello and follow. I love you for it!

So what’s up for grabs? 2 gift packs!

There will be two winners (Yes this is open internationally!) and there will be two gift packs… so what am I giving away? Well that’s up to you!

I know most of you who follow me have a love for books; however that is not the case for all of you! So you have the option between the gift of books or the gift of pampering.

Option #1 – You say books. I answer. Books, bookmarks, magnets, etc.
Option #2 – Bath salts, soaps, candles, lotions, galore.

I do not have pictures because I haven’t purchased anything yet. I want time to get to know all of you and the style you like to read or the scent you enjoy most.

That’s where you come in! Here is how you enter…

Ooh! How fun! Since I just went on Amazon ebook shopping overload, I'd have to go for option #2.

My favorite scent is lavender and I LOVE bath salts or salt scrubs and how they make me feel baby soft afterwards. :)

Oh goody - a give away! My favorite genre varies. I guess I tend to gravitate toward women's fiction though there's a fair bit of the classics, YA, and paranormal in there too.

My favorite quote? I saw this on a magnet Amazon sent with my order once, have no idea who said it: A room without books is like a body without a soul.

I love option #2 but right now I have a basket overflowing with bath salts, lotions, and homemade soaps and the like. I've been thinking of giving them away because I have SO MUCH.

I would have to go with Option #2. My favorite genre is fantasy (a la Sanderson, Martin, Weeks, Elliot, etc). I'm more into the real/gritty/dark fantasy than the Tolkein-esque fantasy (elves, dwarves, and dragons).

My favorite genre to read is a close call, but I'd have to say dystopian/post-apocalyptic ATM.

As for a quote, there are so many great ones. I do chortle every time I read this one though, and it's highly educational as well:

"Do not put statements in the negative form.
And don't start sentences with a conjunction.
If you reread your work, you will find on rereading that a great deal of repetition can be avoided by rereading and editing.
Never use a long word when a diminutive one will do.
Unqualified superlatives are the worst of all.

My favorite genre is dystopian lit, YA in particular. I love the Hunger Games series, Matched, Birthmarked, the Uglies series, all of that.

Ah, quotations. I love them. I have so very many favorites. But, I do find that I love Thoreau's the best, and used one on my wedding invitation. It reads:

"There is no remedy for love but to love more."

It would be hard to choose just one favorite genre, but I'm going with YA because I hope to get inspiration for my manuscript in 2011! Wowee! I love books.Our shelves are brimming over with them, in fact when I saw the 5 min interviews on the BBC news programme I couldn't believe how much lovely space they had on their shiny green bookshelves for more books. We'd have them stuffed to the gunnells!

I will have to go with option #1. I love to read. YA anything but have really been into vampires and werewolves. Can't wait to sink my teeth into Linger or I saw one on your TBR list- Never Cry Werewolf. Anything will do.

I'm gonna say package number 1. My favorite genre is YA (specifically, YA Paranormal). My favorite quote: "When something has to be done, you do it." It's said by Angelina Jolie in Original Sin. Oh, and a second one: "In Consillis Nostrus Fatum Nostrum Est." It means "In our choices lies our fate." It's printed on the labyrinth in Pan's Labyrinth. I have both of those quotes tattooed on me.

Tough choice, but I think I'm going to go for #1! I love all YA - but my most favorite books have a great romantic plotline. Intense, cute, heartwrenching, as long as it is well written, believable, and makes me yearn for their love. That is my favorite. Be it paranormal, fantasy, contemporary, dystopian, whatever! :)
