One of my favorite things in the week is sharing different novels! That's the whole reason I created Tuesday Twists. A place where I share three different novels, their first sentences and then see what you think about them!!!
So here we go!
Sentences...
1. Okay, so I accidentally wrapped my reading glasses in one of the packages I mailed.
2. Lila Cardoza is dead and wearing my earrings.
3. The ornate script on the board twisted in the candlelight, making the letters and numbers dance in my head.
The Reveal
1. Adult
2. YA
3. YA
Any on the list you'd read? Personally I've read and adored each one of these!!! I decided it'll save time for anyone who's curious if it's adult or young adult since I do a mixture!!
What have you been loving lately?

I love #2!! I'm reading and loving WILDEFIRE by Karsten Knight right now.
I have not read any of these but I have been looking for some good recommendations as I plan to read as many books as possible this month. Love these posts!
#2 is on my To Read list b/c I was looking for YA that take a humorous approach to dark topics. It's not as easy to find as you think! I think the first line already sets the tone for the story.
Thanks for posting! I always enjoy seeing the first lines and seeing which book it belongs to.
I loved number 2. It made me laugh out loud. What books is it from? I'd love to read it.
The first one sounds like something I would do, and I love the humor in the second one!
Great picks!
First one is funny!
I liked #2. It sounds like a good book. Just the title made me think of the character Amber Adkins in the movie Drop Dead Gorgeous as she practices her tap routine while putting make up on dead people.
All those lines make me ponder. Good picks :)
I love that you do this! The first one sounds like the adult, but I could be wrong.
Nope haven't read any of these. But then, I'm mostly into MG!
I don't think I have read these. Great openings though! I'm currently reading GONE which opens like this:
One minute the teacher was talking about the Civil War. And the next minute he was gone.
Okay, two sentences really, but the one alone, not so exciting. :)
Ha! That second one is fabulous! Recently I LOVED Ashes, by Ilsa J. Bick--O-M-G Good! :-)
Okay, based on those lines, I want to read all three.
Number one sounds like the sort of thing I would do :)
#3!
I'd definitely read the first paragraphs and the blurb of all three.
I'd love to know the names of the books.
Love #2! That's a great opening sentence, I'd read that in a heartbeat.
agree about #2.
#2 hooks it for me. I'd definitely read that one.
Love #2. It just sounds so snarky, the poor chick is dead and the narrator calls out her jewelry. I have to read on.
Have read sentence 2 and now must discover its origins. Share, please.
