500 follower contest!!!!

I seem to have confused quite a few people this morning... I have to admit that I was rushing when setting up the contest yesterday!

Here are the rules:

follow me
Give me a nice shout-out (sidebar or blog love)
Leave your email address
Do the following writing exercise (it can just be a few sentences): I couldn’t believe that my mother volunteered me for that job.

I'm giving away a copy of The Truth Tellers Tale by Sharon Shinn, and I've also done the writing exercise myself so that you can see how it works! Be creative and on Friday I will showcase the winner and grab your address!! Check out the real post here!

I'm having a total giggle fit 'cause I'm pretty sure I'm the only person whose going to understand my entry but here it is anyway. And congrats on 500 followers! and then some... okay here's my weirdo entry, and I put you in my side bar plus will mention in tommorows blog. :D

I couldn't believe that my mother volunteered me for that job. I have a complete revulsion to all things dairy and yet here I am sitting on the front porch with a five gallon tub of cottage cheese some old nylon stockings and a large silver spoon. She insists it's silver but gauging by the weight of the thing it has to be the iron heirloom passed down by the women in my family. She wouldn't want me to think she was too superstitious, but after last night she's taking every precaution.
I pry the plastic lid back, listening to it click until the chunky white masses beneath the cellophane barrier glisten against the sun. Suppressing my gag reflex I pull the collar of my shirt over my nose and begin to peel back the plastic. I plunge the spoon into the tub and start to fill the nude colored panty hose with cottage cheese. One by one I fill sixteen knee high socks and hang them on the clothes line.
"Ma!" I wipe my hands on the cherry print apron that was provided. Mom pushes the old heavy wooden door open and peeks out. "I'm done."
She rubs her puffy eyes then walks down the stairs. "No, miss you most certainly are not finished." She drops three old coffee cans at my feet. "Start mixing the rest of the ingredients. We can't have no more ghosts comin' in this house. If your brother had mixed the milk base for the paint right the first time before he went off to college we wouldn't have had that spirit on our hands last night." She pats my head. I scrunch my nose in protest. "Go on now."
Stupid home made paint. I kick the cans, one of them hits the side of the house. That's when I see it. The chip in the paint below my bedroom window. The only place the spirit of the dead could have entered our home. Suddenly, I have a new appreciation for dairy products...and that they really do keep out the dead.

HAAHA! okay so here's my email.

I've won a ton of prizes lately on blogs so I'm going to give other people a better chance of winning. I love your idea, though!

Hi! Well, you said I have a beautiful soul...and I just want to clarify something; I don't have a beautiful soul @ all. In fact, it's dirty because of sin. But, Jesus forgave me of that sin and I became clean. He died for me so that I may be forgiven. I struggle everyday though and I have to ask for forgiveness of my sin. It is then that I am clean again. Do you understand what I am trying to say?

Thanks for commenting on my blog! Btw, how did you find it? Just wondering...

Jen, you're linked in my sidebar! Congrats on 500 followers. :) My email is guinevere dot rowell at the g mail!

I couldn't believe that my mother volunteered me for that job. Doesn't she know what little monsters those kids are? Do I look like some type of babysitting charity service? On a Friday night, I just want to do my homework, watch TV and talk on the phone while the kids sleep - not run around trying to get them back into the house before someone sees them running around! No one wants to babysit for the Sasquatches!
