Truth Thursday!

Lets get to the point... THE TRUTH

1. I'd like to walk on clouds. Yes I know it's insane considering the fluffy white clouds are really fluffy once you reach them, but I picture they'd be like jumping on a trampoline, except this trampoline would take you all the way to New York, Hawaii, Paris... all the places I'd love to visit with no air fare... you tell me what you'd rather do?!

2. Certain people annoy me... a lot.

3. I would love a day away from myself. Do you ever have one of those moments? Where your mind won't stop bothering you but you can't get out of it? Last Friday I took a Sanity day to get away from myself. I went to the bookstore, ate pizza and watched movies, trying to pretend I was someone else. Weird I know.

4. Thinking about what's for dinner stresses me out.

5. There are trees outside my apartment that lead to an abandoned building. We would be trespassing if we go past a certain mark, and though we've done it before with friends I'm still fascinated by this building and late at night makes it even more inticing. What's stupid is that I'm afraid of the dark but I'm most intrigued around the one o'clock hour. Pitch black...silence...abandoned building, no wonder I have nightmares.

Any fun truths on your end? I had quite a few more in mind but I'll refrain til next round, after all I don't want to bore you!

PS thanks to the help of Kimberly Franklin I now have tabs at the top of my blog that leads you to my current WiP, About Me, Contacting Me and more!!! So feel free to look around and see what you think!

Scary dark building and you want to go in? Are you crazy?! Haven't you seen horrors movies? That's how they get you! Innocent people walking where they shouldn't be...then BAM! The mass murderer has you! *Shaking* I'm afraid of the dark. Seriously.

Well, my whole post today as a rant of truths, so I'll let you read them there! ;o)

PS: I wish I could walk on clouds too. It's wonderful flying just above them, it almost feels like I am.

a truth about me: I get a crazy pleasure out of planning dinner menus and grocery lists!

I tried to set up tabs...it didn't work for me.

I so wanna walk in the clouds with you! Kids have a book Cloudland by John Burningham that's really cute.

My truth? I've got SO much to do to prepare for company this weekend and I haven't done it...I just keep playing catch-up on my blog reading and not even WRITING (gasp, I know).

Next week will be better!

I love your #3--sounds divine and i may have to try it. But it may only last for a couple of hours (at least until I get calls saying, "mommy come home") LOL!

Great truths, nice tabs! Clouds are so lovely, and comforting. Relaxing in them would be bliss.

Truth: Sometimes when my house is empty and I'm having a stressful day for one reason or another, I go into my kitchen and just scream. I mean, really let the lungs loose.

After those few seconds I feel instantly better.

Catherine Denton said...

A day away from myself! I cracked up at that one. And I would LOVE to know the secret to the tabs!

Oh dinners, a necessary interruption to the day! I have to write out a week's menu ahead of time so I don't spend time daily thinking about it. I find this helps with my planning and scheduling.

Truth ~ I have an aversion to seeing anybody touch their bellybuton. I'm getting antsy just thinking about it. *shivers*

Truth -- I try and get away from myself as much as possible. I used to be an actress in a former life and sometimes for fun, I pretend to be someone I'm not. I dress up and go shopping and fake my way through Neiman-Marcus. Like I'm rich and famous.

Most days, however, like you, I grab some old movies and pretend I'm Ingrid Bergman.

Dinner stressed me out too!!! I have to plan 2 weeks worth of meals and go to the store and I freaking HATE it!

Aw, I used to dream about walking on the clouds. Definitely the best mode of transportation :) My truth for today is that I really, really don't want to go running today, but I'm going to make myself.

I giggled at DL's truth, because I hate it too!! My husband loves to sneak touches on my belly button, which he knows is sure-fire way to get a slap.

Truth: I'm going to Nashville this weekend to visit my brother-in-law and his best college friends, and I'm a little nervous. I've never been to Nashville, and these people are like his soulmates.

Truth: I'm really battling I-suck-itis in my novel right now.

I need to get more savvy with my blog. I like the tabs too. Soon, I may serialize one of my books, so it would be nice if I could link it like that.

Figuring out what's for dinner stresses me too. That's why I pick meals for the week the previous weekend. Then it's all mapped out. If you've read my blog, you know I don't make good decisions under pressure!

I'm with you on your cloud wish. Even going through them on a plane hasn't convinced me they don't have substance. I wish I could fly. But then I'd have to watch out for clouds!

These are so funny, you are such an intriguing person Jen. And I can totally identify with #2 lol.

Jaydee Morgan said...

Certain people annoy me too ;) And I hear you on being stressed out about what to make for dinner!

I'll be back to check out all the good stuff under those tabs later :)

I would LOVE to get away from myself. UGH, my brain won't shut up so I totally identify with that.
I wish I could still surf, but finally accepted it's something I can no longer do (and the Dr. agree's) so it's time to go to the beach and enjoy it for what it still is.
I lived in both Hawaii and NY but if I had to choose it would be Hawaii, that will always be number 1 on my list ;)

I am like, no joke, the world's biggest cloud lover! I'm always taking pictures of them & the sky, and once the sky was full of pretty white clouds except one baby gray cloud and I named him Little Timmy. :)
And don't worry my mom is always stressing about what we're gonna have for dinner!
xx,

I love the tabs. I recently add my tabs to the top too (rather than the side). I like them there. I like that you call your awards bling!

For me, at least today, for #2 on the list I would drop the word "Certain". It's been one of those days.

I'm with you on the dinner part, it totally stresses me out.

That building does sound fascinating. I don't know why, but your description made me think of the MG novel, SKELLIG. :-)

Oooh, an abandoned tree shadowed building at midnight? sounds like creativity food to me! Taking a day off from 'yourself' sounds like a fab idea! I might need a full blown vacation though...:)

Portia said...

Oh, I love your list! I wish I had trees that lead to an abandoned building. I wonder if I would have the nerve to sneak in ... sounds spooky and fun!

Tahereh said...

haha great list. thinking about what's for dinner makes me hungry tho.

lolol

Scary, dark, abandoned buildings are so fascinating. They definitely makes you want to come inside, regardless of the legality!

And clouds! I want to walk on them, too, despite knowing they're just water.

Talli Roland said...

I would love to walk on clouds! How much fun would that be?

And that dark building of yours sounds very intriguing!

Ramona said...

No problem!! Just send me a picture or two of you so I have a reference. Better make this good if it's going on your blog. Now did you still want the characters the same way as the comics? I can do that or slightly more realistic, doesn't matter to me. I'm guessing you want the post card from Harry potter world instead of disneyworld. Send me your address so I know where to send it. My email is ramona.maclean@hotmail.com.

This was fun to read.

I understand about the dark building. I've done it myself.

Dinner stresses me out too! Truth, I kind of like cleaning the house with the radio blasting. Don't tell my kids, they still need to clean up their rooms. =)

When I come back from my technology break in a week...I'm going to REDO my blog! And get tabs and cool things like that.

My truth? Hmmm, well a lot of people annoy me. (so I understand that). I never get anything accomplished during the day, even though I'm awake, and I'm psycho productive at night (which is why I take full advantage of my insomnia). I secretly wish I could sleep more. I always think about lighting things on fire ;)

Since my TMI wasn't really about me this week, I'll leave my truth here: sometimes I split my split ends, in a really OCD-way.

Anonymous said...

No air fare sounds fantastic! But then I'd be tempted to go everywhere and I'd never get anything done.

My truth is that there is a wooded path out beyond my yard, and even though it's private property, I've walked down it before... and maybe picked a few berries...

Did I say that?

Truths: I think I'm ADHD, I hate cooking, I love cloudy, rainy days, I love cats, I hate unkind-ness...and my brain won't shut up, either. Loved your list!

I want to walk on clouds too. lol.
My truth: Today I bought a pair of shoes. Not shocking but I called my mum before I got them so she could tell me to buy them, even though I'd already decided to get them to wear to my brother's wedding. They were in the sale though. lol.

Thursday are fun:) Will have to give the tabs a try for my blog, thanks for the inspiration!

As much as I love to read and watch movies for the entertainment, I just realized from your post that I also do it to get away from myself. And it works! That's probably a way to judge how good a book or movie is--did you escape or did your thoughts start interupting the flow. Now you've got me all philosophical.

This is the first time I have seen this one! Interesting! The truth can be so elusive sometimes. Great post!

Hi Jen .. the design is great and I must look through your tabs next time I come over.

Truths .. as you say .. it'd be great just to get away .. but life is life .. once we're past this time, then things will be easier.

Enjoy the weekend .. don't worry about dinner?! Hilary

Number 3 is very interesting to me. We're with ourselves 24-7 and it's strange to think that we'd need a break from ourselves every once in a while. I've never consciously paid attention to that before, but I completely understand it!
