V is for Victory is All Mine

There are two things I don’t like very much.

Negative Attitudes & Bugs

So today I’m claiming the positive vibes zone.

I’m a firm believer that if you send out positive vibes you’re going to receive a whole lot of love back. But if you’re sending out the negative feelings that’s all you’re going to get back. Who wants crap coming back to them?

Victory is something we’ve all experienced in life and in turn the positive feeling creeps up and takes a nap for hours. You never want the feeling to go away.

Those victories: The first completed draft. First painting sold. Potty training the little one. Teaching your cat to stay off the table (at least when you’re not around). Getting a full request for a manuscript.

Those are the moments to remember. So the next time you’re down push out those positive vibes in the universe. Chances are they were just waiting for you to call their name.

What’s your latest victory?

Totally agree Jen! (about both the bugs AND the negative attitudes!)

That's what I love SO much about this blogosphere and the writing community, in general, everyone seems so supportive and friendly...willing to help! It's hard not to feel the love! ;)

Very sound advice!I am always reminding myself about those little victories in life.

I'm with you whole heartedly on the positive, Jen. Spent many years being crushed by the negative and reaping what I had sown.

My victory today was waking up healthier (mind, body, spirit) than I did yesterday...yesterday was just one of those (long) moments in life that wasn't ...well, just wasn't....

Hope your day is FAB and stay positive, my friend. So much easier than negative and in that way, I am ridiculously lazy ;)

Cheers :)

My latest victory is ordering a swimsuit from LLBean for the first time - it arrived yesterday and I was thrilled when I tried it on! Phone call to mailbox to trying it on in the comfort of my own home. Done. Victory!

My friend's garden now looks like it might be a garden after four years of neglect! And I am mananging to keep up with the a-z challenge - although one day behind (don't know how that happened maybe because I'm in England)
As my nan used to say if something goes wrong - fix it or forget about it!

I so agree about staying positive.

I would say my latest victory is avoiding demolishing the small easter egg I got in one sitting, but I'd be misleading you there. LOL.

I had a word count goal and I completed it! But then it turned out my story wasn't finished, so I've got about 10K more to go :)

Next up in May~ Potty Training the little one!

my latest victory? completing homework for 19th century lit class.

Why don't positive vibes work on the golf course?
I would count it a victory if I only 3 putted twice.
I'll celebrate another victory when we get to 'Z.'

So true. Think positively and everything dark changes to light. It reminds me of Julian of Norwich's words: "All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well."

I just won 'Gossip from the Girls Room' on Vicki's blog so I'm feeling pretty victorious right now!;)

Jen,

You are so right! I try my best to stay positive, but don't always achieve that goal. Still, my blog slogan is "Celebrate the Positive", and at least on there I try my best to be that way.

My friend Lisa Ricard Claro at Writing in the Buff also wrote about "V" being for victory today. After reading your two posts, I think that acknowledging meeting our goals, big or small, is an important part of feeling victorious.

Thank you for working so hard on the A-Z Challenge and wishing you a wonderful day!

Yay for VICTORY! Love it, Jen!

I just finished draft, so that's my latest victory. xx

My latest victory was sending a story to my editor and only having three edits, two of which were allowed to stand. :)

Your post today reminds me of something social satirist Dave Gardner said, "Gratitude is riches and complaint is poverty and the worst I ever had was wonderful." :)

My goal is to finish Draft 3 this week. So I'm looking forward to that victory.
I've never been able to teach my cat to stay off the table but he does come when I call him.

LOVE this post. I don't like negative attitudes either. Too much negativity in the world!

Let's see, my latest victory? Gosh, well, I made it through a minor surgery. Still a bit sore, but I went to the gym today and did an hour on the elliptical. Something I've MISSED terribly since being laid up.

So, I'm happy!!

So true. While it is hard to not feel let down at times, it's much better to celebrate the positive! There's always something to be positive about. Good post Jen!

Staying positive is hard to do, but I make the choice:) My victory is that! Nice post, thanks!

The best thing about positive vibes, love and kindness, is that they take a lot less energy than hate, cruelty and negative vibes. This is great for lazy people like me.

Yes, it's just a universal law. You get what you give out.

Yay for staying positive! I recently finished my book and started querying. I haven't gotten many rejections yet (or many responses at all), so it's easy to stay positive so far. I've just got to remember that when the responses and rejections do come in!

Can I hang out in the Positive Vibe Zone with you? :) It's sometimes hard to do...but staying positive really is best!

I'm working toward a victory right now and hope to attain it soon! I'll keep you posted...

I am a firm believer in keeping things positive. With all the negativity in the world we need to keep THE GOOD VIBES FLOWING, especially in our community!

Yay for victories! They come in all shapes and sizes. My latest victory? Managing to get a full 9 hours' sleep last night. I actually feel human today!

Melissa Sarno said...

I picked victory for my v word too! Of course, it was about how I need to accept more of my writing victories as actual victories. So, since you asked, my latest victory is that I wrote 2,000 words yesterday! Woot!

le sigh. Good stuff--and you know my latest. Although I have an even later latest. I got back on the horse and finished Ch. 1 of the next installment. Yay! It still works~ :D LOL!

Staying positive is key as well as celebrating the smallest of victories! Well said...my recent victory? Going to the gym this morning!

These are fantastic words of advice. I'll admit I fall prey to going negative at times. Especially when the day isn't going well, it's easy to switch to a mindset that focuses on the bad. But you're right, you get what you give, and who wants negativity dumped back at them?

Thank you for the inspiration to stay positive and keep heading toward life's victories!

LOL, did you see my facebook post about the worms this morning? I'm not sure if worms are bugs????

My victory this week...I sent a completed chapter book to an agent friend...she said she'd give me some input on it. I'm so excited that she cares. :)

Yay for victory! I love the idea of a positive vibe zone. I was able to finally walk more than 2 miles without crapping out today. And my jeans are getting baggier. :)
