Pen thiefs beware

Woohoo! Another installment of Truth Thursdays. I know, exciting stuff. You can't stay away. My honesty amazes you. I know. It hurts to be this awesome (not really, it's awesome).

Before you bask in my awesomeness I wanted to let you know I'm over at Laurel's Leaves doing a HARRY POTTER POST! Next week will be dedicated to HP but that's not before my latest article in the Thestral Gazette - Snape's Secret Admirer. Do check it out :)

1. There was a pen thief in the office (allegedly - I was the one accusing said someone). I couldn't find my lawyer pen (hey... sometimes the best pens are weird ones). Turns out the damn pen was in my sweater pocket the whole time. It just wanted me to find a new favorite - which I did.
2. What is in a name? When I'm struggling with character names I go old school. That's right my local phone books is where it's at. Who needs baby name websites (they take forever to load). My main problem - too many old people's names (sorry harvey).
3. I have a cookie obsession (it's worse than my cupcake one) I make one to many cookies (okay like six extra) claiming my husband might want some. I really make them all for myself (and yes... i eat all that I make).
4. I'm jealous of my cat. I'm also jealous of my husband. They have this cosmic connection. My cat will disown me to be close to my husband. They both get more time together than I get with either one of them. Boo. Boo.
5. I love hearing good news. People getting published. People getting agented. People being featured on websites. Yea. I love awesomeness.

What are you going to share today?

Sooo what is your favorite cookie? :-) I once had a dream to open up a cookie shoppe with three basic dough flavors and lots of fillers. Customers would be able to choose any combination of dough and fillers, then I would make it and bake it right on the spot! Yumm! Xx-emmy
P.S. Yippie number five!!

Sounds like a pen gremlin moved it into your sweater.

I simply love good news, especially if it is for someone who really is in need of a pick me up.

Cookies are awesome, my favorite is butter pecan.

Wow the phone book? That is sheer genius!

Remember, if you wanted attention, you should've gotten a dog.

I love baking! I also say it is for my husband. At least he gets some of the yummy stuff too. I try not to eat it all, but I tend to be selfish :) Love the post!

I am obsessed with pens and am known in the office as the pen thief. I am sorry but when I find an awesome pen IT MUST BE MINE!
P.S. You are awesome and your honesty is refreshing.

Thanks again for your awesomely hilarious guest post!!

If the kitty is ignoring you, it's time to...get your own kitty. :-) Worked in my house. My daughter was sooo unhappy that our cat runs away every time she enters the room, so we adopted a second cat who is hopelessly devoted to her. Rosie even sleeps in my daughter's bed with her.

omg, phonebook is such a genius idea! Especially for surnames, which i ALWAYS need

I used to get mad at pen stealers when I was a waitress.
One of my cats disowns me every day, several times a day. But my other cat makes up for it by being more like a dog in his devotion to me.

Thanks again for your funny post! I'd be jealous of my cat and my husband, too. Lucky for me, my hubby is allergic and she hates him. Problem solved!

Truth: I watch my pens like a hawk and will snatch my good ones out of peoples hands before they can use them only to replace them with a bic is they want to use a pen. LOL I know I'm weird.

Great truths on your end by the way. I wish I could wave my fairy wand and make you more time for both your guy and cat.

"too many old people names!" very funny!

Gertrude is a nice old person name, but I can;t ever use it in my writing unless I start writing about the 40's.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Did my publicist contact you about my blog tour? I know you had an interest in hosting me a while back.

Wow, this is my first time reading your blog and I must say, very honest. You really put yourself out there. I admire that.

My truth is that I MISS YOU!!!! I've been a terrible blogger friend, lately. Forgive me? Pretty please with chocolate chip cookies on top? :)

Also, I feel your pain about the cat. I had a dog who's ranking went: my husband first (had my dog turned into a woman, I would have been in trouble!), my daughter (big sis), and then me (but, only when I had the treats...)

Have a fab day, my friend!

I love your pen story! Haha. Sounds like something that would happen to me. Because really, there's nothing like that special pen.

I like to find character names in unique ways. Attendance lists at work (an elementary school) for first names and street signs and train stations for last names. :)

Jen, I have a fav pen, too. It's heavy but not too heavy. It's silver and well, awesome!!!

LOL about the pen. Blame the pen elves. They do that to me all the time.

Cookie obsession, hey? Can I recommend trying ginger nut biscuits. I am addicted to them and want to pass it on to someone else. I'm evil like that! Muhahahaha.

Not quite with you on the baking. I'm afraid I'd rather get my biscuits from a packet. They taste more reliable that way. But the cat jealousy thing... I'm with you on that one. One of our new cats, Charlie, is obsessed with my husband. He can't even perch on the edge of a stool without her (she came with that name!) curling up on his lap. Her sister, Mabel, doesn't do laps... yet, but I'm working on it and in the meantime I'm jealous.

Unknown said...

I understand the whole cat jealousy thing perfectly. Dogs are the thing to have. Mine are utterly devoted to me and that has nothing to do with the fact that I'm the one to feed them and go out in the rain and cold across the hills with them. Nothing at all...

I eat what I bake as well. Sometimes those cookies don't all make into the oven, either as I am cookie dough addict.

Another truth, though it is technically Sunday and no longer Thursday. I've had some schedule discombobulation these last weeks and I have not been so good at catching up with all my blogs nor my writing. I feel terrible and am working my way back.
