So, in an adoption agency, what does it mean to be approved?
So glad you asked!!
It means we are now getting opportunities. This is a simple email telling us about the birth mother and her life. Should we choose to embrace her we send her our 'opportunity book'. This is a book where we share about our lives, our animals, and our families. It's a way for a birth mother to get to know us as much as possible in a short amount of time.
SO EXCITING, RIGHT?!!
We are overjoyed. We even went and purchased two outfits. They were as unisex as we could get... which was harder than I'd thought.
We are going to be parents. It may take months or even years, but one day we'll hold that little one in our arms and know that they were all worth the wait.
Now we must complete our required classes (last class to be completed in November) and we'll officially be ready for placement!
If you're interested in adoption or just the story itself, shoot me an email! It's worth sharing!
Any exciting news you'd like to share? Let's dive into the positive before the weekend begins!

How exciting! That's wonderful Jen! So happy for you.
Congratulations! Adoption is such a wonderful blessing for parents and the children. My dear hubby was adopted at 3 days and I'll always be grateful to the birth mother for giving him a chance to have a better life than she could provide at that time. We never would have met if he had stayed in his birth state.
Hubby's parents raised him right too. For that I will forever be even more grateful.
Wonderful news, indeed! Congrats!
Congratulations!!! Aw, that's such wonderful news! I know you've got to be over the moon--good luck with everything that comes now!
Wow, huge congratulations! That's so exciting!!
Congrats again!!!! So so happy for you!!!! Unisex clothes are VERY hard to come by. We didn't want to know the sex of either of our kids, but we still wanted to have some clothes ahead of time. And most of the "unisex" outfits still seemed to lean one way of the other anyway.
Wishing you so much good luck!! Can't wait to hear the good news when it happens!
Congratulations! Being an adopted child, I want to say thank you. It's people like you who give babies like me a change for a great life. So happy for you and for the baby that is about to be blessed with the love you and your husband will give!

Jen, you guys are going to be great parents.
Congratulations, Jen! I've heard so many uplifting stories about the struggle of adopting a child, and how it's so worth it. :) I'm so glad for you!
Congratulations Jen! So now I have to tell you the best story. I used to work at Target...*ahem many ahem* years ago. When people would bring pregnancy tests through my lane, I used to get excited for them. I quickly learned to keep my mouth shut. Not too many were happy about it.
One day, this lady and her husband came through my lane with two carts full of baby stuff. They were both glowing! I never knew guys could glow so much. She was super teeny tiny, obviously not pregnant. But I asked about the baby stuff anyway...you know she may have just discovered she was pregnant.
She started crying. Happy tears. They were picking up their new baby. Their adoption had gone through. We all bawled together. Hearing your news, brings back that memory. That's the happiest I've ever been for complete strangers, you couldn't help but be happy.
I'm just as happy for you and can't wait to see the precious child you'll be blessed with.
Congratulations!
Congratulations! That's great news to hear :)

My heart leapt a little. I know what it is like to want a baby so bad your bones hurt and what it is like to find out you're going to be a mother. I'm excited for you and this journey you're on. Goosebumps.
