Truth Thursdays!!

QUICK NOTE - I'm so sorry to all those who gave me comments yesterday I really do want to visit your blogs and plan to! You see my WiP was calling me and she demanded that I take time to write her, as soon as I started writing I was in the zone (10,000 words written! Totaling 38,000 words)! So that is why I've missed all your lovely blogs but I hope you still love me! I promise to get around to comment, just give me a bit! :)

CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!!

First things, if you have yet to sign up to win a copy of The Truth Tellers Tale or Prada and Prejudice go now!!! The books are the links so just click on them to take you to enter!!

Next up, Erica over at Chapter by Chapter has thee most fabulous contest! Stop by, you won't regret it! Totes, books, bookmarks, too much fun! Ends next week so make sure you stop by and when you do let her know I sent you!! Gives me brownie points, and I really want that tote bag!!

Now for more good stuff.... TRUTH'S!!

1. I love rain, it's the best writing days (when I'm not forced to work my 8 hour day) but my favorite part is the color of the sky before it starts, the light pink that illuminates the land and makes all the wonderful colors pop, the green of the grass to the purple and pink of the flowers, they seem to the most vibrant colors, like they were just freshly painted. Crazy sounding or not I love it.

2. I'm addicted to Dr. Pepper

3. I used to play pretend with my sisters and we would all be in a made up Kingdom and each of us a princess to take the throne to become Queen. We'd pretend we had the fancy dresses on and walk down the beautiful staircase (which was really our rickety old staircase that lead from the patio to our driveway - eventually the railing fell off)

4. I hate that at my local Kroger I have to waste gas to get gas. I've never seen such a line anywhere else, but you always need an US Weekly in hand so that the ten minute wait doesn't seem so bad.

5. I used to think Ciao was spelled Chow... yup I'm an idiot, and a blond.

Rainy days are for reading in bed...though once I had kids that luxury seemed to end!

Woo hoo you go girl! 10,000 words in a sitting? Brilliant! When you get in the zone, the force is unstoppable! Keep writing! ;)

10K Wow! You're on fire! Keep up the progress!

10 minute line to get gas? I've never seen such a thing here. I'm not that patient!

And I agree with Vicki, rainy days are for reading in bed ;-)

Grrr...You and your damn wordcounts. :-) I'm such a slug! I've been so consumed with thoughts on finishing SM that I've been having trouble going to sleep. For me, that's huge.

I love your truth Thursdays! I used to play pretend with my sister as well. Too bad you have to waste gas to get gas, that stinks!

Glad you got some work done:) Not a Dr. Pepper fan unless it's 3am and I'm eating tacos...

Kroger does have the cheapest gas though! Especially when you earn the 10 cents off. You just need to move to the sticks like me and then there are no lines.

enjoy the time spent with your wip! I used to think Ciao was spelled 'chow' too! And ciao was 'see ya'. I guess its the blond in us.

10,000 words is amazing!! I bow to you. And I love Dr Pepper as well, too much.

We used to have a Kroger. It was the best store! Darn, I miss it a lot.

Take care- keep writing!!

So glad you were able to write 10,000 words yesterday! And a little jealous, b/c I had the time to write (hubs took kids to the beach) but the darn thing just wouldn't flow.

I think I actually do some of my best writing with chaos all around. Perhaps, with all my darling interruptions gone, it was just too darn quiet for me to think.

A rainy day is perfect for writing, especially summer rainy days, where you can sit outside in a sheltered spot and watch.

Lol! I went throught a crazy Dr. Pepper faze...then I just got over it :o/

*gasps* way to go on the word count! I need a zone or focus or a completed outline or someone to just write it for me like a ghost writer who looks like Ewan McGregor...oh wait that's a movie and a dream wrapped in one.
I love the rain, but I love crazy scary storm the best. The ones where the sky turns the color of another planet and it goes creepy quiet. I also love horror movies so go figure, and the other day when I went to get gas I freaked out because when I popped the thingy to open the gas lid there was a lil toad sitting in there. EW, frogs freak me out cause they jump when they feel like it and I never know when that is.
Luckily, someone was there to get the frog out of the thingy so I could open my gas lid and fill 'er up.
Thanks for the shout out!
PS writing you back soon we have to discuss the last dance on SYTYCD um crazy awesome :D

Jen you are the sweetest of the sweet! You are so amazing with your word count. jeez, I think I'm gonna have to channel you :)

You are too cute with the chow/cia! I'm such a total blonde too!

Anytime I hear (or read) the word Chow I instantly get hungry!! :)

This one cracked me up! Chow!!
I used to think Ciao was written like Tchau (bye in portuguese. Has the same sound).

=D

You're making me feel the need to wake up early to catch the sunrise. I'm NOT a morning person, but I love the sunrise. :)

And yay for getting so much writing done!

Ellen Brickley said...

Oh, caio. . . When I was a kid, I thought the same.

In fact, there's a Sweet Valley Twins book called 'Ciao, Sweet Valley!' and I thought that Ciao (which I pronounced Keeyo) was the name of the exchange student visiting and that the title was like someone introducing her to the town. . .

In my feeble defence, there is a popular Irish name Ciara, pronounced Keera, and I may have assumed it was similar.

Jen, why do you tempt me into admitting such embarrassing things?? :)

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog! You are welcome anytime :)

I love rainy days too. They are romantic and laid back. Too bad I just moved to AZ, the sunshine state. Looks like my grey, puffy, cloudy skies will be slim to none.

I understand your addiction to Dr. Pepper completely! My choice of poison? Diet Coke with a lemon wedge. Yum. I think I need one right now!

WOW what a writing day-- I'd say you get a pass ;-)
um, "chow" babe.

You must feel great about your writing progress! I do for you! And Dr Pepper? That's a blast from the past for me.

Holy Tamole! 10,000 words!? Way to go! I was happy that I got *ahem*1,000*ahem* words yesterday. LOL

Eeks! The line at your Kroger (we have the Fred Meyer portion of their company) sounds like our Costco's line. Have you ever noticed tha some people just can't figure out how to pump gas? I have to sit on my hands to keep from hopping out and taking over for them, LOL. Yes, I'm impatient.

Jemi Fraser said...

Congrats on all those words - that's fabulous! I like the rain too - as long as it's not too many days in a row!

Stephanie Faris said...

I hate that line at Kroger too! I've actually just gone elsewhere to get gas. I've also found that they tend to mark their prices up to discount them that $.10 (and of course, all the area gas stations match their pre-discount price). Often if I get gas on the way home, it's the same price as Kroger is after the discount, so be wary of that!

Theresa Milstein said...

I'll stop by Erica's blog.

My kids and husband like Dr. Pepper too.

Waiting for gas? What a pain. Is it much cheaper?

Leigh Hutchens Burch said...

I can NOT drink DP. It gives me bladder infections.

I never knew "chic" was pronounced "sheek" until like ten months ago, so I feel you on the word-mistake.

Chow, bella!

The Words Crafter said...

Dr Pepper was my absolute fav...but I kicked sodas, so...I didn't know how to spell ciao, either. I love rainy days...great for reading, watching tv, writing, and sleeping!

Karen Lange said...

You should come get gas at my Kroger, the lines are shorter:) And the Ciao thing - i was an adult before I put that together, so don't feel bad. I love rain too, unless I have to drive in it!
Happy weekend,
Karen

10k -- oh wow! That's amazing! Congrats, Jen!

And that's the exact reason I love rainy days, too -- the color of the sky is gorgeous. And is the Kroger gas line always that long? Or just on certain hours of the day?

Eva said...

Your WIP is always the most important. If she's calling, you best listen :)

vic caswell said...

holy moly! 10,000 words- good for you!

i love rainy days too! thunderstorms with lots of lightning are my favorite!
and dr.pepper... i'm actually drinking one now.

Meredith said...

Congrats on the 10,000 words! You're so right about the color the world turns before it rains--just beautiful. Now I'm craving a Dr. Pepper... :)

Carolyn V. said...

I used to think ciao was chow too. Until we got a new restaurant in the neighborhood with the same name. I only made that mistake once after that. =)

Congrats on the word count! I'm so impressed! =)

Right on for your fresh 10k! I also enjoy the rain, it's good for a lot of things, plus I like the fresh smell it brings. :)
