Truth Thursday's

Yay! I love my truth Thursday’s edition. This is the day where you can say anything weird and no one will judge you… at least until Friday ;)

1. My husband and I have become season’s geeks. Live television is lacking, don’t get me wrong I love reality TV – my husband… not so much – so we have been buying season dvd’s. The latest was Weeds and it was addicting.

2. Spring/Summer time has me reading the light and airy reads! If you’re an author with a sunflower on your cover or girls in pretty sundresses chances are you’re on the top of my list to read. It doesn’t have to be a happy read but if the cover is all about spring then I’m in. I am a girl who judges a book by its cover, in certain months.

3. I don’t like to spend money on just anything. Pandora only allows you to use 40 hours’ worth of their music for the month for free. I was so lazy I’d open up three different accounts to utilize the 40 hours. I finally buckled and paid the $36… and I don’t regret it. Pandora One is the bomb.

4. I’m kind of addicted to American Idol. Casey & Haley rock my world every week. I don’t want to say good-bye.

5. I have three random items at my desk to keep me sane. #1 kitty, pirate boy, and a plush burrito. They scream awesome.

6. I've added one extra to share that I'm addicted to author signings!!! Blue Willow Bookshop has the one-stop shop of awesomeness and this evening Lauren Oliver will be in Houston at Blue Willow at 7 p.m.! So grab your friends, your snacks, and your debit card so we can really make this event awesome! For details hop over here! Next week there will be even more fun! Go to my Blue Willow tab for details!

So what are your truths?

Great truths Jen! We've become addicted to seasons as well. I've been getting caught up on Glee. We also can't miss an episode of Idol either!

My truth is that I've been neglectful in my Jen fix lately because I'm working through the Reflections list and I've missed you.

and NO I'm not stalking you, it just is what it is.

Thanks for YOUR truths today, enjoy them, and that's all.

Oh yah...

Cheers :)

My random desk object is a purple plastic M&M guy. My kids gave it to me years ago and named him "Book Knowledge Man." He is the fount of book writing wisdom. Aren't you jealous? :)

We just finished the first season of The Walking Dead. It was awesome. Still trying to finish Battlestar Gallactica, and have about five more shows on our Netflix queue. I think I might bump Carnivale to the top...

Nice! The truths tell a lot of good things about you. I don't get US TV, so I can't comment on the seasons but I'm addicted the "old" programs that you probably got three years ago - the woman with 8 kids, The Fat Surgeons (awful isn't it? My husband goes mad).
And I have a little yellow rubber duck on top of my screen with an orange beak and an awful perm.

Truth- I rarely judge a book by its cover- I use a blurb for that on the back :) Have a fairy wonderful day Jen

Speaking of "seasons", it is sweet to buy and watch at your leisure. I got hooked on Glee. Bought the first season, and have been watching season 2 on hulu, because it's inappropriate for young children (although the content has really improved lately), and I want to watch when I won't be interrupted.

Awesome truths, Jen! I actually shared a few of my own truths on my blog today. :)

that is so freakin awesome about Laura Oliver!!! I've only watched AI once this season w/my parents, and I think the judging combo they've got is pretty awesome! My TV-show roster's too full... :D <3

love spring book covers~

1) I completely forgot about Lauren Oliver being in town and now I am seriously depressed because I can't go.

2) I love Weeds. Also all medieval shows on Starz/Showtime right now. What is about a sword that facinates me?

My husband and I love seasons too! We use Netflix instant watch a lot, and borrow seasons from friends. It's a lot more fun to watch a million episodes of a show and then move on to the next one, instead of watching normal TV with all its commercials.

I'm also addicted to book signings. Blue Willow rocks!

Yay truth Thursday's are back!

hmmm my truth today.... i can't stop thinking about Chipotle....

I'm no where near as interesting as you are. :)

lol. Okay, what's a slush burrito?

Mariah Irvin said...

I love Pandora, too, but am not sure I would pay for it. Have you heard of Grooveshark? You can create playlists for free. Nothing can beat being introduced to new music, though.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Pandora is the bomb! And James is my pick on Idol. Must pull for the heavy metal dude!

*runs out to google slush burrito*

i don't even know what it is but i want a plush burrito. NOW.

I wish we had more author signings where I live. We have almost NONE!

I've been spending my life at the local ball fields, cheering on my three kiddos.

I'm counting down the days until summer vacation. :-)

Truth is I'm addicted to watching Soaps and have been since i was 11 :) hehe Especially the ABC ones *AMC *OLTL *GH oh yeah baby!

Emily White said...

:( There are NO author signings here! It is so very sad.

My family - including extended - and I love buying seasons, too. My parents cut off our tv for some reason... (probably trying to get us to move out :p) so they just buy tv seasons instead.
My mom must've watched Buffy at least twenty times since we completed our collection. >u>;

On your point about spring books....
I wish Canada was starting to look more like spring, already. Too much cold and rain. Where's May at?!

SO jealous of the Lauren Oliver signing:(

Thomasina said...

I prefer groove shark over pandora, and it's free. I'm also a fan of pretty book covers.

Laura said...

Ah, I feel I know you a little better (I'm a 24 season geek!) And I too buy books by the cover... my truths -
1. I wear patent shoes to work so I can feel like a 6 year old.
2. I only had chocolate and pink champagne for a meal tonight
3. When I took my coat off in the cafe this morning, my dress had ridden right up over my butt - and I flashed everyone
4. I REALLY on't know how to use make-up
5. I have a secret crush on David Bowie in the LAbyrinth right now...

Great truths, Jen!

My truth: I'm becoming weirdly superstitious when it comes to my writing. I must have a candle burning on my desk at all times now. If I don't, I feel off. Strange, I know!

Donea Lee said...

Awesome! :) I've been burning through seasons of tv shows through Netflix on-demand. Yay for Haley on AI!!!

And a plush burrito? Hmmm...

Stephsco said...

I have it on my blog profile that I'm a huge TV-on-DVD-binger. I just got caught up on Justified, which if you like gritty, well-written characters, and a hot law enforcer, this show is awesome. Season 1 on DVD, season 2 just finished on FX.

I wish I could get into AI this year. The last two years I didn't miss an episode. No shame! It's fun to root for the underdog and see them shine when they nail a song. It's TV's #1 show for a reason!

Kristin Rae said...

I didn't know pandora had a limit! I don't listen to it that much I guess. The commercials drive me nuts.

And American Idol is finally good this year! Casey and Haley are amazing! So sad Casey is gone... they sounded SO good on their duets!

Nicole Zoltack said...

I really liked Casey and was sad when he left. But I'm rooting for James to win it all.

Catherine Denton said...

Plush burrito? Pictures please! ;) I joined you and put my truths on My Blog.

Tiana Smith said...

Is it weird that I want to see a pic of your plush burrito? (I just noticed the comment above mine and had to laugh, at least I'm not the only one!)

Susan Fields said...

Great truths! I've never actually watched American Idol. I saw about five minutes of it once, and Simon was being so mean to some poor girl it made me really uncomfortable and I've never watched it again. I supposed I should give it another chance - everyone else seems to love it.
