Oh, definitely #1. I had no idea it was Elana's until I clicked on it. Can't wait to read that one!

I recognised the first one right away!
But I do love me some of that 3rd one. Weird New York. Heh.

Love Elana's! Her book is just fantastic!

Gotta go with the first. But YA isn't really my thing ... I'm guessing they're all YA, right?

Number 1, for sure. Now I'm going to go see what it is.

#1 and #2 are the two I would pick up and read. What a great way to entice people to pick up a new book. I love it!

LOL! Man, #1 is KILLER. Ha! I would totally read that. And #3 as well. And hey, I like me some sixteen year olds, too, so yeah. These are all great!

Definitely the third one, because it's actually true.

Number 1, for sure :)

Ha ha ha! NO QUESTION: #1 :-)

Yay, Elana! :-)

I already knew it was from Possession, but I still have to say that #1 is such a great opening line and I'd pick that one over the rest.

Kristin Rae said...

Definitely #1!

I've actually read #3, and #2 is on my list. For some reason though... I'd always thought it's not a good idea to open with "I". And considering most commenters here went for the line that didn't, I'd say that's an accurate thought. :)

Definitely the first one. It presents the most interesting inherent question - that being why?, of course.

This is such a fun exercise - and not just from a reading perspective. It's also a great exercise to help writers focus on what makes a first line work.

First one. Easy.

i'd read them all of course!
Of course, i've already read #1

I have Elana's book at home. Waiting to be read. No time. UGH. It's next though, I'm slowly making my way through my pile!

And I love the line from #3. LOL.

Number three, please! :)

I'd read number three. It had me at "New York"!

#1 and 2 are already on my TBR list and I just added #3!! Thanks!!

#3! I'm wondering what the character thought was so weird about NYC. And, of course, #1--got to read Elana's book! :)

It was a tie between 1 & 3. I definitely want to read Possession! #3 looks cute although I've never heard of it.

I am so excited to read #1. It is preordered on my kindle.

Meredith said...

Clearly #1 is awesome. :) Can't wait to read that one!

Misha Gerrick said...
