The train stops at 9 ¾
The whistle sounds
The birds chirp
Children with their wands and robes board the train
This is the real adventure
Boats for first years to search the grounds
We’re grown now
This is the last stop
Where does one go from here
What will your wizard career be
Voldemort must be beaten first
Can Harry do it
Will he do it alone
The wind blows
The schools barricaded
Voldemort seeks vengeance
Harry seeks freedom
Wizards everywhere pray for victory
Does he have the ability to kill Voldemort
PART TWO tells the end
Are you ready?
Why did I write a poem? Short answer – because I’m an idiot. Real reason – it’s a blogfest over at Writing With Shelly that I thought was worth participating in (until I started writing it). Don’t worry I’m not entering into a poetry contest. I believe just like art it’s all subjective but this just sucks. I know. So be kind. Don’t disappear from my blog because of ONE BAD post.
REGARDLESS THIS IS HARRY POTTER WEEK! Ride on a Hypogriff or grab the nearest Thestral and ride into Hogwarts with us. With the release just around the corner everyone bring out their wizard ways and let’s make magic together.
Here are my Hogwarts besties (check out their Harry Potter posts – much better than mine today) – Michael Di Gesu, Laurel Garver, Renae Mercado, Colene Murphy, Abby Minard, AND Melissa Sarno. Join us on our journey through the end of Harry Potter.
Author note: this week is dedicated to Harry Potter – if you hadn’t noticed. Next week we’ll be back to normal. This week is all about the fan and her addiction.

YIPPEE! Harry Potter week!!! I'm heading back to the Wizarding World in Universal next month and will be running amok with a butterbeer and a wand:) Cute post!
Ha ha, this is grrrreat! You should definitely add "writer of poems that make people smile" to your resume!

Jen, I have awarded you The Mighty Pen award. Stop by my blog to pick it up.
I Take the Pen
Wahoo!! Nice. I can't wait for HP. So so excited.
I can't believe it's the final installment! What an end to a wonderful era!
I'm wimping out of the midinght showing again (hey, I'm no youngster anymore and like to be awake enough to enjoy the show), but I'm chomping at the bit for the final installment nonetheless. I'll make it till Saturday...somehow.
Hey, you write better poetry than I do!
It's Harry Potter week in our house this week too! The girls and I had a HP breakfast on our deck yesterday while listening to the soundtrack of Prisoner of Azkaban.
I'm so, so excited for the movie!!
For fans every poem with Harry Potter as a subject is good! :)This week especially!

Well I loved your poem Jen...well done!
I liked the poem! Anything about Harry Potter is well worth reading after all :)
I also have a bit of HP love on my blog today.
Even though i'm sad this is kinda the end, i'm really looking forward to getting some distance from HP for a few years, then doing a re-read of all the books in a row when my mind isn't as fresh with all the material. IT WILL BE AWESOME!!
I love reading your posts. They are funny and adorable and interesting all at once, seemingly every time. As a newb blogger, it's completely enviable.
Anywho, I wrote a blog post today right before I was directed by Krista on I Take the Pen to your WIP page, and I have to say, you're exactly the kind of person I was talking about being jealous of on my post today. lol.

Happy blogging!
Yay - Love Harry Potter. Good job on the poem - you're brave to try. I'm terrible at poetry and I'm definitely not brave enough to post any.
I loved this poem! I'm gonna read again before I go see the movie, to get pumped up!
Glad to meet you, following you now (stalker mode begins.)
Nina
Love the poem. :) A week dedicated to HP is a week well spent.
Perfect poem to start off HP week. I can't wait for the last movie.
I'm so excited about the last movie (and a little sad too)! I love the poem.
WHEEEEEEEEEEEE! We just watched the first two again this weekend!
I'm torn about the last installment too - excited, and sad. Although, introducing it to the next generation will be awesome too!
We have to wait an extra week to see it! Because we're going to be visiting my sister in Seattle. The agony!
LURV IT! Great poem! Yeay and boo for the final week!
Eeeeehh!!! I am so so so stoked :) I'll be in line at like, 4 in the afternoon to see the midnight showing. Very, very sad that this is kind of the end of Harry Potter, though. Thank goodness for Pottermore. And great poem, btw :)

I love your poem! I'm happy it's Potter week, but sad too. All of this excitement has me, well, er, excited :-)
Loved your poem! I'm doing a HP week too. It'll be fun to immerse myself in the Harry Potter world for one week.
WooHoo Harry Potter Week. I saw your name over at Michael's blog and couldn't wait to stop by to see what you would be doing!
I'm jealous that most of you are going to see the movie this week. Meanwhile I promised my daughter I'd wait until after she finishes the seventh book so we could see it together. She's on #5, sigh! I'll be screening it in my basement sometime next year!
I'm so excited! We still don't have a babysitter lined up (hopefully we will!) If not, then hubby and I are going to take turns to see it. Not sure how we're going to figure out who sees it first...
What a fun post. I thoroughly enjoyed your poem.
My children and I are having a Harry Potter week. We have tickets to the midnight showing and I can't wait. Love the poem : )
I'm counting down the days until Saturday! Got my tickets for the 615PM showing. Yay!
I look forward to more HP -themed posts! :)
I just watched HP 1 last night (doing an HP marathon this week!) so this poem was PERFECT! Thanks for sharing ;)
Hi, Jen ...
Don't be so hard on yourself. IT's an HP celebrations so anything goes. There's nothing bad in the HP world especially with fans like us....
Good poem for HP Week to get ready for the movie. I still need to watch Part 1!
Love that you did a Harry Potter poem for the blogfest!
I'm so excited to see the last film! Midnight showing tomorrow! W00t!
Like how you combined the fests. Great job. Looking forward to the new movie. :)
500 points to Gryffindor for making your poem about HP.
Good imagery, Jen. And I really like how you killed two birds with one stone by writing a Harry Potter themed poem.
I think there is not enough Harry Potter poetry in this world. If only more people were brave like you and wrote about what was REALLY in their hearts!
I really love it BTW!
So fun!
Way to be a fan! You're making me want to read more HP books and go watch the new movie!
Have a lovely weekend,
Ana
I am ready! Thank you so much for combining HP and Poetry Schometry. Couldn't ask for anything better!
