Hex Hall meet Demonglass

I love Houston.

Why? Three Words...

Blue Willow Bookshop.

They are not only the cutest and kindest bookshop in town, they also house some of the best author signings around!

This time is no different. This Friday is the Rachel Hawkins and Sarwat Chadda signing and several bloggers are looking forward to it! In fact, we're looking to make a whole evening of it!

Meredith, Kristin Rae, Heather, and my sister Kim and I are all meeting for dinner at a Cafe & Bistro near the bookshop and then heading over! If anyone in Houston is interested in meeting up with us we'd love to have you!! Just shoot me an email!
I loved Hex Hall! One of my favorite books of last year so it only makes sense that I drove to Blue Willow last night to pick up Demonglass to get ahead on reading before the signing!

Here is my review of Hex Hall:

Sophie Mercer isn't your typical teen. With magic on her side and an attitude she finds herself stuck in Hex Hall a place where those who weren't behaving well end up. She is someone you understand and can relate to. Being the outcast even in the school of outcasts she finds that her roommate who happens to be a vampire is the only person she can truly confide in. Mixed with a group of witches who wants Sophie on their side they will try and entice anyway they can!

The end will surely not disappoint anyone who loves a little magic and a lot of fun! Rachel Hawkins makes the adult feel like a teen again with the roller coaster of emotions and the wild rides around the corner. This book is sure to make you smile and unable to break before finishing!

Hex Hall was my favourite debut of last year!! I got Demonglass yesterday and I'm trying to read it as slowly as possible so I can savor it. I'm so jealous you get to meet Rachel! I hope you blog about it!

I read Hex Hall for the first time a couple weeks ago and loved it. I can't wait for Demonglass.

Sounds like such a fun evening/signing. If I click my heels together three times and say, "There's no place like Houston," do you think I could come?

I really need to find a cute local book store... I love our Barnes and Noble... but smaller bookstores are just so charming!

You are so fortunate to have a great bookshop that hosts many authors. It's always nice to meet and hear what our favorite writers have to share. Sounds like you'll have an amazing Girls' Night Out :)

You're so lucky. No one ever comes to my local bookstore. Well, we were graced with Sarah Palin last year, but I must have been busy. Bummer. Other than that we get nobody. So not fair. Have fun!!!

Good to know about that bookstore! I need to check it out next time I'm that way...I live 2 hrs from Houston.

By the way, I linked to you today in my post. http://sharlascroggs.blogspot.com/2011/03/women-who-write-wednesday.html

Houston's a great city! Lived on the southwest side for a year a while back ... me and some friends went there after high school and framed houses in Sugarland, Richmond, Rosenburg and such. I remember the 610 loop, ice skating at the Galleria Mall, and seeing some great concerts and meeting great people! Don't think I went to Blue Willow Bookshop though.
