Truth Thursdays

I missed last week so I have to make up.

This will be the last Truth Thursday until the A-Z Challenge is over. Unless my creative juices are flowing and I find someway to make it happen. We shall see. For now, here you are:

1. I love food shows. Kitchen Nightmares, Hells Kitchen, The Next American Restaurant, Top Chef. What's funny is I'd never be found eating their food. I'm a picky eater.
2. I'm excited for the A-Z Challenge to start. 26 days of making those creative juices flow. Over 600 entrants. It's nice to be co-hosting something so brilliant.
3. My husband and I use our computers too much. He's in school and I of course am writing. Having the full work week leaves us staring our eyes into the computer for hours in the evening.
4. I loved being apart of LiLa's blog tour on my birthday. It was a ton of fun and I feel special.
5. I tried True Blood. I hated it. I don't know if it wasn't what I had anticipated at all which lead to disaster or what. So for all you True Blood Fans out there I'm sorry, just not my cup of tea.

Wooooo! I'm the first one! I'M THE FIRST ONE! Yay!

Ahem.

I love food shows too, and property shows. I can watch them for hours.

Happy Thursday, Jen!

Um, me being on the other side of the world and all, and isolated from 'civilization', what's True Blood? ;o) lolol

I'm not a True Blood fan either. I didn't get it.

Hoorah!! Someone else who doesn't like True Blood!!

I think the story behind it is pretty good - I just think it's a little OTT on the "lust" side of things.

I haven't watched True Blood yet, but even die-hard fans I know say it's getting too gory for them to watch it with food - I only ever watch TV with food so that's putting me off a lot!

I love True Blood and nothing about it bothers me. I love actual cooking shows but I do not like reality challenge cooking shows. I just want recipe ideas, I don't want all the over the top drama. That's what Greys is for! :)

You know, when I watched the first episode of True Blood (the first two, anyway) I was astonished by all the sex. I mean, I thought, based on those episodes that all I would be watching is sex. And that's not really my cup of tea. But if you can get past those first few episodes, there is more story. And it's pretty good.

Oh, and I love Hell's Kitchen!

Can't wait to see what you do with the A-Z challenge!

If you think about it, True Blood is sort of like a food show... ;-)

I'm so with you on the True Blood thing. I used to think there was something fundamentally wrong with me b/c I don't like most of the shows that everyone else loves (I could never get into the Sopranos either). Now I feel better.

True Blood is seriously porn with people that bite.
it's ridiculous! I don't like it either.
Plus, Sookie was CRAZY annoying!! I got through like 4 episodes

Sorry guys, I'll take my licks if I need to, but I m going against the grain on this one. I love True Blood. I keep HBO for that reason alone. Just remember to each their own and not everyone will like each of our creative works.

As far as the drink goes I think that maybe taking a way to monetize the idea a bit too far, but again each to their own.

I had to chime in.

never seen an episode of true blood, then again, I don't have cable. too busy to watch tv here. I joined in on the A-Z challenge as well

I know what you mean about the computers! My husband is eye-deep in research and I'm writing. Blech. Sometimes I hate the computer.

Have a great day!

I was trying to cut back on computer time but 26 posts and 800 blogs to visit -- don't see that happening for a while.

I am so excited for the challenge thank you for hosting. I also did not like True Blood I tried it in the beginning.

I am excited to theme my challenge to all things this Fangirl is a fan of. Everything from star wars to reading :)

Love your post today. First time visiting your blog. I just signed up for A to Z challenge and am excited to get started! My daugther loves food shows, too...really loves them, but she won't eat much more than a piece of bland chicken, some pasta and cheese...go figure. Maybe it's a foretelling of what's to come when she's an adult...maybe watching all those food shows will get her curious enough to start eating something else besides carbs? Who knows.

I also share your sentiment about True Blood. Not my thing, either!!

Excited to follow along in April. Can't wait to see what Truths you uncover in your journey across the alphabet.

I love food shows too, especially ones that feature Nigella Lawson.

And I hate True Blood as well. I tried, but I just didn't get it. So there.

I'm super excited about A-Z too! I can't wait to see what you've come up with seeing that you're creative.

Colene Murphy said...

NOOOO!!! How far did you go into True Blood? One episode? Two? I guess it isn't everyones cup of tea, but it does take most people more than a couple episodes to get into it.(if you tried the whole first season, well then, there is no hope...) ;)
Good luck with the challenge!! 800+ is HUGE!!

I'm a fan of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives although I usually only watch it when I go to a particular Thai restaurant that seems to usually have it playing when I'm there. I eat while watching a show about eating.
Now on to The April Challenge!

I am right there with you on the food shows. I love them. Especially Top Chef. But I would never ever ever eat anything they cook.

P.S. We are having a giveaway on our blog to celebrate its first birthday. Would love for our to enter.

Hi Jen! Just stopping in to say "hi" before we get into April :~) Like your posts...simple, relevant, to the point and...they communicate!

Sam ~ "True Blood is sort of like a food show?!!" You just *had* to say it...oh my...you may have sent Jen over the edge on that one. lol

Jen?...uh, Jen??

Really enjoyed the first season of True Blood, but then I tried to get my boyfriend to watch the second with me: I was too embarrassed to keep watching!

Jennifer Hillier said...

True Blood is polarizing - you either love it or hate it, there's really no in between.

Truth? I love it.

Another truth? I don't watch any other vampire shows! And yet I'm such a fan of the fanged...

Cindy said...

Happy Thursday! I can't wait for this A-Z challenge to begin either... my first blog challenge so we'll see ;)

True Blood.. is that the Sookie Stackhouse stuff? I really enjoyed the books but it sounds like the show is so incredibly different that I doubt I'd like it either

Hi Jen! I think the Challenge will be a ton of fun. Can't wait for it to start!

I seldom watch food shows because a)they make me hungry and b) they make me feel even more insecure in the kitchen. SPAM sandwich, anyone?

I haven't shaved since Richard left town again...

I know. It's a theme, but it's been cold. And I hate shaving goosebumps.

Tried the True Blood here, too. I just thought it was silly, but supposedly it got better after the first season. Who knows~ <3

Love this challenge and good luck!

I can't true blood or other vamp stuff either. I love blogging though just 6 months old...rediscovering the joys of writing.
my first posts for A- Z are already up...this will be difficult, almost like daily homework assignments. good luck to you on the challenge and your books.

Hey stranger. It's been quite a while!

I also love cooking shows, because I think it's one of the last art forms that I haven't attempted. Not sure if I'd eat half the stuff, though.

Already posted A-day, so I'm in challenge mode now.

Don't like True Blood either. Can't say why, but something about it doesn't work for me.

:-)
