Funky Lovin Tuesday

So I've found that you ALL adore my Twisty Tuesdays where I give you a few sentences and have you running off wondering who has written such an awesome beginning.

Why change something if it works?! Plus I adore surprising some of you and also share in your delight when it's already made it to your TBR pile and was pushed up a few spots just from these posts!!!

1. "Which one of Johnny Burwell's eyebrows do you think is cuter?" Sarah asked.
2. This was getting old.
3. I wish I had a boyfriend.

1. Secret Revealed
2. Secret Revealed
3. Secret Revealed

These were all different, nothing based on spookiness, just fun reads that I've wanted to add to my TBR pile!!! So what do you think? Which one's would you choose? Do you have a specific genre you want me to tackle next week?!

Tonight Tony DiTerlizzi will be at Blue Willow Bookshop!!! It's at 5pm so be there if you can!!! For more info click the button at the top of my left hand sidebar (yeah it's a mouthfull!)

I'm also going to go with #1. Sounds interesting.

I would probably go with 2. 1 just seems too cutesy and too young. 3 seems like it would only be about getting a bf and nothing else. Since I've eliminated two of the three choices, it's not hard to pick one to read.

AHA! I knew #2 sounded familiar! Jen you should turn this into a monthly type meme and we can all join you (yeah I know, too much work...) ;--)

Golden Eagle said...

I went for 2, since 1 didn't really appeal and 3 didn't either. It was fun finding out what they were!

Love number 1. :) Love this.

I love this idea! :) Thanks so much for adding my giveaway to your sidebar. It's appreciated!
Happy Tuesday,

Oh, number 1 looks right up my alley! I can't believe I haven't come across that book sooner! These posts are so fun and also get me thinking about the opening line of my own WIP!

I like #1. It just sounds so funny!

Melissa Gill said...

That was fun. I had the Duff on my TBR, but I'll add these other two.

Hannah said...

teehee! I picked Duff! It is on my list.

Joanna St. James said...

I think I'll be greedy with all three

Summer Ross said...

LOL- the first one got my attention! I really enjoy these. Hmm tackling next week- I say spooky due to Halloween coming up.

Jennifer Hoffine said...

Cute idea. It's the first time I've found this.

I've read THE DUFF and BEFORE I DIE...both well worth putting on anyone's TBR list.

Creepy Query Girl said...

I like number one and number three. Number three because 'I wish I had a boyfriend' was kind of my mantra from middle school on...:)

Amie Borst said...

from the first sentence, honestly, i wouldn't read any of them. but if you threatened me and took away my chocolate, then i'd say #1. :)

kah said...

Wow. I read THE DUFF and didn't remember that being the first line, but that was my pick. :)

Meredith said...

Definitely #1. I have to add that to my TBR pile right now--too hilarious! I love these posts :)

Jillian said...

eeeek The Juliet Club sounds AAAAAAAmazing

#1. Hee hee. That just makes me laugh. But I've got nothing. I have no idea. =)

Lindsay said...

I love all the first lines, but I've still got to read THE DUFF. I've been saving it for when I finish the wip. :)

Oh, and Before I die is an awesome book. :)

BK Mattingly said...

I loved the first one! I had to read it twice to make sure I didn't read it wrong, too funny.

Lenny Lee said...

hi miss jen! yikes you dont give a guy much choices. for sure i dont care about johnnys eyebrows and for sure i dont want a boyfriend so i gotta pick number 2 and hope its not some girly stuff. ugh!
...laughs and hugs from lenny
just one more day!!!!!!!

Talli Roland said...

Number 1 rocks!

Haha - Lenny's comment made me crack up! :)

Lisa Galek said...

Oooh, tough one. I like them all, but I think I'm going to have to go with number #1. Which eyebrow is cuter????

Colene Murphy said...

One was my first choice.
2 was the second. Both look good!

Anonymous said...

I'm already familiar with number two, but one and three both sound great as well. Thanks for this!

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

You know my genre choice - science fiction!

Matthew MacNish said...

I would have to pick number 2, just because the other two sound like YA romance for girls, which I don't often read, but hey, what can you really tell from one line anyway?

Fun!

Chris Phillips said...

I agree with the bros. 2 is the least sissy.

*note: Comment verification is brosper. Like prosper but with bro in front of it. This confirms 2 as my choice.

Nicole Zoltack said...

Definitely #2. I can't wait to read The Duff!

j.leigh.bailey said...

I love the line of #1, but I read #2 and quite liked it. The message/theme of the book is pretty blatant (no subtle hints), but I think it's a message that will resonate with any girl/woman. We've all felt like the DUFF, and made questional choices and decisions based on that feeling.

Suzie F. said...

I love this feature, Jen.

#1 made me laugh. If a first line can do that, then I'm all for checking it. Now to click to find out what novel it comes.

Bidisha said...

Before I Die is one of my fave books ever. I love the first line and everything that follows it.

Can't wait to read The Duff.

And I love the first line from The Juliet Club.

Candyland said...

Ha! Number one!!!

Anne Spollen said...

2 and 3 I hear all the time in my living room from the teens that infest my house, so I have to go with number 1.

Besides, anything that mentions such a neglected body part gets my vote.

Jai Joshi said...

I went with no. 1 because it made me laugh.

Shannon O'Donnell said...

Well, how do ya NOT go with #1?! LOL. :-)

Marieke said...

I so NEED to read THE DUFF :D

Rose Cooper said...

I love these posts!! I've been really wanting to read THE DUFF too. Altho, the first line listed cracked me up!

Where do you come up with these ideas for posts? Oh right, you have a geniusly creative thinking noggin. I should borrow your brain to help me come up with my blog schedule :)

Elana Johnson said...

I don't know any of these! FAIL.

Melissa said...

I go with number 2 because I want to know what the heck is getting old! Though both 2 + 3 are on my TBR list. I never heard of 1 but the line made me laugh.

Sondrae Bennett said...

I love these posts.

I go with number 2!

Debbie said...

How fun! I love the whole idea of this.

For me, it's #2 for sure. But I didn't even realize it's from THE DUFF until I clicked on the link, though I've read it. Just goes to show that I'm terrible at noticing first sentences. :)

Theresa Milstein said...

My order was 2, 3, and 1. The first one was funny - what attention to detail! The second one is on my to-read list.

Jemi Fraser said...

They all sound great! #2 drew my eye first :)

Unknown said...

Definitely number 1! Hope you're having a great week, Jen!!

The Words Crafter said...

DUFF sounds like an interesting read....thanks! I'd not heard of it...

Guinevere said...

Duff sounds fun, but I love no. 1 as a first line!

Shannon said...

Yep. Love this game. =) I like number 1. It made me say, "what??"

Lacey Devlin said...

Hi Jennifer! Thanks for stopping by the blog. I'm a fan of number 1 too.

Clara said...

The first one! =D

Samantha VĂ©rant said...

I won the Duff. And I'll be reading it soon.

Oooh! The Tony thang! Go! Have fun!

Ooh. I like this game. I'm off to figure out which ones they are!
