Amy, 35, housewife - I've been struggling for years trying to think of the perfect story when this informercial came on, I had to try it! Thank goodness I did, now I'm going to be a published author all thanks to ideabucketworks!
Disclaimer: We do not give refunds, this method works and we stand by our product. However we are told to notify you that Amy has been compensated for her false review. She did not come up with an idea and is not becoming a published author. We still stand by our product.
If all ideas happened this quickly there would several people writing their hearts out! Unfortunately as writers the one thing that is amazing about us is something that often gives us the most trouble. Ideas do come out of thin air... that's when they're the best, something in our mind is triggered and brilliance erupts on the page.
Lauren Conrad, Hilary Duff, and Snooki do not count.
So if you're feeling a little low on ideas don't fret, they'll start flowing again! For my NaNo I needed to come up with a fresh idea... well if you've checked out my WiP World tab you know that I have all the ideas in the world, and the minute I signed up for NaNo my idea machine broke (No I do not have a machine... or an actual bucket) but after digging a bit I came up with my idea!
So when the ideas are low here are some tips:
1. Watching Jersey Shore might help - I mean it worked for Snooki
2. Imagine what it would be like if you were a pint size little barbie (or Ken) living among humans (Aren't you curious to how you would survive?)
3. Go to a drive-in movie theater and count how many couples are making out... then shower them with popcorn.
4. Watch I know what you did last summer (every edition) and Scream (every edition) to know what NOT to do in those situations.
What? Did you think they were actually going to help you come up with ideas? I'm not the frickin' idea fairy... go find your own.

Now there's a great idea!
Was it in the bucket?
ROFL! My problem has NEVER been being without an idea. My problem is I have SO MANY ideas all clamoring for my attention that it is hard to focus on just one. (Don't tell anyone, but I've been near paralized unable to decide what to write about.)
Great post Jen. Definitely made me smile this morning.
The idea bucket, now why didn't I think of that. Do you think they have a web site?
Tee hee, you're too funny! Normally I don't need a magical idea bucket either, but if you find a "stick with your WiP" machine, I'll take it!
Bahahahahaha! Oh you're so funny. Great way to start my day.
LOLOL! You are a smart cookie! VERY CLEVER! hehehehahahaha!
hee hee hee!!!
seriously though, your idea bucket file idea thingy for storing blog post ideas has really been saving my bottom lately... so in a way you ARE a bit of an idea fairy!
LOL, thanks for the smile. Great post Jen- I have an idea for NaNo, its my publication that all my idea machine went on the fritz for-
Am creating an idea bucket for my night time slumbers. Great post!!
funny!
i don't usually have problems with ideas. in fact, they come too easily and too fast. i can't keep up with them.
my problem is dealing with my crummy writing.... sigh
I'm good for ideas!
TEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROFL!! Ah, Jen, thanks for starting my day with a good laugh! :-)
Oh Jen this is why you are one of my favorite people!!
Glad I saw this - I was just about to purchase the idea bucket. Dang. Back to the drawing board. =)
haha brilliant! This totally made my day because I've been needing help from the idea fairy!
this is crazy funny, i have an idea bucket that visits me in my dreams. I have been told sometimes I mutter please don't 4get over and over in my sleep.
lol! I need an idea bucket just for all the crapper ideas. Maybe an idea toilet would be best. Congrats on finding yours for NANO!
bahahahaha! Perfect!
Good luck on the idea for NaNo.
still debating on joining up with that myself.
hi miss jen! i really like that idea bucket but i gotta tell you its pretty much way over priced for what you get. popcorn and barbie. ack! ha ha. my brother andrew said to say that a bucket by the bed has got a lot better use. ha ha!
...laughs and hugs from lenny
What?!? The Idea Bucket doesn't really work? Awwwww.......
Quick questions. If I buy two does it make me have more ideas or better ideas? Also if I act now can I get a mini idea bucket or flexible reading lamp for no additional charge? tia.
wait... so I buy the bucket from you or I make my own and then send you the money???
Am I having a blonde moment? ;p
<3 U~
P.S.
Go w/the barbie idea.
LOL! But I need an idea fairy! And an idea bucket.
Love this post tons Jen!!! But I'm a little disappointed that there is no bucket. Dang.
Bwahahaha! Hilarious, Jen! Love the fake infomercial - my three-year-old was laughing at me laughing!
Hope your day is light and lovely and filled with ideas to fill up your bucket! ;)
Hahahaha....I love love love this! I laughed all through! It's hilarious! Every sentence! ha!
Oh, I have never been to a renaissance park. Now, that you described it in the most perfect way, I can't wait to go to one!! :)
LOVE!
Haha. I've just posted my money for the ideas bucket...what do you mean it isn't real! *sobs* :)
Dear Fake Idea Fairy,
You are not helpful.
Love,
Hannah
p.s.
I heart you. :P
If I had an idea bucket next to my bed, I'd stub my toes and fall on my nose on the way to pee.
LOL

Lol.
Don't laugh but there are places that the FAIRIES roam- and Snookie- not her. I hit the library or the bookstore and read mad jacketflaps ONLY- no pages. I hit the history and non fic sections too. Also- try this website called seventhsanctum.com for a giggle. Really, if you are stuck it's funny and maybe it will spark something- there are lots of idea generator sites if you've a serious block.
Awesome! I haven't seen that infomercial yet! I'm going to YouTube it and then mail my money right away!!! WOOHOO!!!
Lol, thanks for the laugh today, Jen!!!
LOL - my idea bucket fills itself at night. Some of my best ideas are from dreams (of course, then I have to work out the crazy parts).
Awww...and I had my CC all ready. =[
Funny post, Jenn! Now I have to brew up some ideas.
When you do become the freakin' idea fairy, please let us know. I need to talk to her.
Hi Jen, what a fun blog you have! Thanks for stopping by mine, your post is so funny. If there was such thing as an idea fairy, she'd (he'd?) probably own an idea bucket. We're better off on our own!
xo
Di
I could use an idea bucket sometimes! LOL.
Count me out on the idea bucket. I'm always struggling to find time to write the ideas I have already. I like big long stories and series where the characters become like family. I always envy short story writers.
LOL. Loved your post! And everyone can mail their 9.99 payments to me and I'll beam them fabulous ideas to their bucket! LOL. :)
haha Would you mind filling up my idea bucket? :)
Hahaha! I love this! Especially the part about watching Jersey Shore--sooo many good ideas can come from that show :)
Haha! Really funny post, Jen:) Now I really want to watch scary flicks!
You should film a commercial for this! I love it :-)
Hey Jennifer! Nice to "meet" you and thanks for stopping by my blog. Not to be too Stephenie Meyer-like, I actually got an idea in a dream for the novel I'm currently working on. I also get ideas when I'm out for a walk. Great post!
Maybe I'm a little off-base here, but this post has the makings of a great story. :-O No kidding! Just needs some character development and a big win for the finish!
haha funny, I need a bucket!
ahaha! Love the disclaimer. PLEASE tell me SNOOKIE is NOT WRITING A BOOK. SAY IT AIN'T TRUE. Sorry for yelling. Must go buy Paris Hilton's CD now. It's hot.
disclaimer: i hope you know I'm kidding.
Oh this is just brilliant!! Bummer though that you're not the frickin' idea fairy... that would have been useful!!
PS. Thanks for following my blog
If it were true, millions would be made! And yes, watching tv can def. spark ideas!
I liked your infomercial. It made me want to see if there was an actual site out there with that name. :)
Great infomercial. I'm still waiting for my NaNo inspiration to strike.
Hilarious!! I love your wit! :) I actually am an idea bucket - no really. LOTS of ideas...very little follow through....
