Truth Thursdays

Short and sweet.

1. I don't like the smell of vanilla, it gives me headaches.
2. If I had a reason to wear heels I'd own a room full of them. Working in a warehouse just doesn't allow that.
3. I'm dying to know what comes after Demonglass... Rachel isn't speaking (I'll be stalking her until she does).
4. Wishing for a day that I could live in a castle and experience the life of the wealthy (only to write a book about it later).
5. The best moments are when I'm at home sitting next to my husband on the couch talking... he's just that special.

What are your truths?

The husband comment is absolutely true for me too!

Also:
Getting up at 5 really does make my day better,
All seasons are special,
and
I'm going through a historical fiction phase...
That is all.

Awesome truths!

Vanilla: it also gives me headaches!
I hate mornings. So much that I stay up as late as I can because I love nights. This is probably why I hate mornings.
Sometimes I use Anthropolgie magazines to find landscape ideas for my books :P

Good post, Jen!

My truth: I'm in a good mood today. Everything (knock on wood) is as it should be. That's all I need to know.

I like the heels comment. Once in a while I wear them to the grocery store or the mall just because I want to.

I've never been able to finish a William Faulkner book. Ever.

I miss licking stamps. I always liked the taste of the glue.(I know. I'm weird. But basically harmless.)

I haven't read Demonglass yet but I really enjoyed Hex Hall so I'm looking forward to it!!! Happy Thursday and check your inbox later. . . I've got some ideas for ya:)

My truth this morning is that I would much rather spend the day with my daughter, so I'm really considering calling off work

Truth #4 is awesome!

Living in a castle sounds ideal! Especially to write a book about it. I also love those moments with my hubby. My truths are here

I can relate to truth #5 :-) My truth? Honeycombs FREAK me out. Hexagons are gross. Eeew. Just eeew.

I keep lowering the word counts on my deadline calendar so I won't have to feel bad about not writing enough :)

I love your #5. It just warms my heart when I read stuff like that. :) I'm going on 15 years of marriage and I still loving sitting next to my sweet hubby and just relax. :) Yay.

Christina Lee said...

I can't handle lots of smells either. And heels--meh- they look pretty, but I'm a flats girl all th way!

Cheers to nr.5!!! Those moments are truly the best:) Have a fantastic Thursday, sunshine

Aw, I love moments like that with my husband too :)

You know what's sad? I rarely have the opportunity to wear heels--but I stock up on them anyway. It's such an unhealthy addiction...

I'm with you on #4. I'd like to be a Lady for a day and have people wait on me hand and foot. Great post.

I love spring so I can sit on the back porch at night with my husband and listen to the nightlife.

Michelle Merrill said...

I like your truths...I don't need to bore you with mine :)

Although, there are some smells that make me sick since they are reminders of different pregnancies. Ugh!

Sweet truths today :o) My thursday truth is that I pay for my apartment to be cleaned. LOL yeah, I'm lazy.

Couch time with loved ones definitely make some of the best moments.

Hilarious! I'd have a closet full of heels,too : )

You don't like the smell of vanilla? That's unique!

Cantaloupe gives me a headache. Can't be around it. I'd love to live in a castle, but I'm so cold natured I'd probably freeze to death. High heels are just not natural. They're beautiful and I wish I had the legs and the grace for them, but I don't.

My truths:

1. There is beauty in a gloomy overcast day.

2. Wish my cats had the same alarm clock in theirs heads as I do.

3. There is nothing more supportive than another writer, when you need encouragement.

4. There are NOT enough hours in a day, or a night for that matter.

5. Best cup of coffee ever comes from a French press.

The shoe thing...that is so me too. Before my writing career, I was a floral designer who stood for 8-1/2 hours a day normally, then add in holidays when I stood for sometimes 12+. Now, I chase a little boy and sit on my love seat to write. It's the same reason I don't go out and get a fancy elaborate haircut. I go tot eh gym in the morning and that's it. Most days I don't put on makeup and I wear fleece lounge pants.

I have that same heel thought at least once a month! Heels are just so cute! I'd rather have comfy feet though...Can I come live in your castle? I wouldn't take up too much room? Maybe just a wing?? ;)

Donea Lee said...

I'm with you on #4!!! An old one I've renovated in Ireland or somewhere like that. Ahh...to dream.... :) Fingers crossed we both get our "castles" one of these days!!!

1. I don't ever get child broody... but dog broody is another matter
2. I have been living deep-liter(ature) for 2 weeks whilst my other half has been on a film shoot - there are books everywhere
3. pot noodles give me hangovers
4. I aspire to wear welly boots to work all day everyday - heels 9-5.30 hurt!
5. I have 6 books at the 3 chapter mark, and none any further.

I'm with you on all but the vanilla. I love vanilla, especially in lattes. Well, and maybe the heels. I do love heels but they have to be comfortable (except for the few pairs I have because they're awesome but have only worn out once).

Abby Minard said...

Aw these are cute :) My roommate in college bought this orange/vanilla candle and burned it all the time. I thought I was going to throw up every time from the smell. There is this body shop in the mall that always smells like that and it totally triggers my gag reflex now!

My Truths?
I hated reading Les Miserables, even though it's my favorite musical of all time.
Making time to write is more difficult than I thought
And I sure do love chocolate chip cookies. :)

You work in a warehouse? I love warehouses. My last job was managing a warehouse and I miss it.

Could roll around in Vanilla - love it :)

Also, I sometimes change my shoes two or three times during the day, just because I can :)

That's such a sweet truth to have! I love sitting on the couch with hubs, too, except I always beg to get my head rubbed. One of my favorite things to do ever!

Nicole Zoltack said...

I so wish that I lived in a castle, too!

Jemi Fraser said...

I love the smell of vanilla - one of my happy smells! Great memories of baking with the kids :)

LTM said...

shh... come close (whispers)--I don't want to move.

(straightens up quickly, clears throat) Vanilla isn't one of my faves either, and I gotta say, I don't much like wearing heels and I haven't read those demon books. But I do love just chatting w/the hubs. And these biz trips are an awesome perk, but it's more fun when it's just the two of us together... :o) xoxo <3

I love the smell of vanilla...in candle form. Yummy! Or in coffee (which I know you don't drink - but if you could smell my Madagascar Vanilla Caramel when it's brewing you just might change your mind!). I like when my husband works late - is that a horrible truth? I get the evening to relax, write, read, visit blogs and make dinner before he gets home at 8:30. No pressure evenings rock! Then we can enjoy dinner together and spend the evening on the couch watching tv!

Jackee said...

So sweet... I love #5. I need to remember to do that more often. :o)

Thanks for sharing!

Jennifer Hillier said...

I like the smell of vanilla... in food. I don't like it as a perfume or air freshener (gives me a headache).

I used to wear high heels every day in my 20s. Now that I'm in my 30s, my feet can't handle it for longer than a couple hours at a time. And yes, that makes me sad.

Meredith said...

Aw, your last truth is adorable! And yay for high heels--I try to wear them on every occasion I can.

Hannah said...

I agree on the last truth. Those are the moments I remember most, when The Man and I are sitting and talking.
