Truth Thursdays

Today is a bit more detailed, between flowers and motion sickness I reveal my usual strange, adorable, quirky self.

Enjoy!

1. I love lillies, there is something calming and beautiful about them (then again aren't all flowers just divine)?
2. I love the beach. Galveston, Texas may have dirty water, and other Houstonians may not get near it but there is something about swimming near dolphins and just enjoying the atmosphere that keeps me going back (that and being from Iowa, a beach is a beach).
3. I love the 'would you rather' questions. My husband has a calendar full of them and every day we ask eachother what we'd rather. We hardly agree.
4. A pet peeve of mine is too many shoes laying around in the house. My one weakness is leaving too many shoes out. What's a girl to do?
5. I love fruity cocktails but I don't like to feel the buzz. I love to fly but hate the motion. I love the feeling of wind against my skin while traveling on a boat, but it makes my stomach queasy. Solutions? None, just continue enjoying the cocktails, flying, and letting the wind hit my face.

What are your truths?

Lillies are my favorite too! That's why I have a child named after them!

Motion sickness is a bummer--I'm a fellow sufferer :)

My favorite flower is close to yours, but smaller--Lilies of the Valley.

That I love to eat, but my metabolism is pooping out on me. Getting old sucks.

I love going to the beach. I also get motion sick. I don't remember any childhood vacation that involved a ferry or boat because there was dramamine involved.

If you get any good tips on the boat thing, let me know. I also seem to get super queasy out on the water, but wish I didn't.

As for the shoes? Baskets, baby! That's how I now deal with my daughter's insane shoe collection (she has, for example, all-weather Mary Janes in six different colors--thanks Grammy). We keep a big shoe basket under the front hall table where she can stow her footwear coming in and grab a pair going out.

Ewww, Galveston beach! It's a cool beach, but I wouldn't step foot in that water! :)

My truths, hmmm. Let's see.

* I'm a night person living a day person's life.

* I have the heart of a country girl and am working toward living in an area where red barns and black & white cows are commonplace.

* If I didn't think it would kill me quickly, I'd live on junk food and ice cream.

:O)

My favorite flower is the forget-me-not. It's just so delicate and adorable at the same time.

And another truth is I've flown to most of the continents on this Earth, but I hate it. The taking off is the worst. I'm always convinced I will die.

Fruity cocktails rock! I love them! And my favourite flower is the lady slipper.

Happy Thursday!

Ah, I had Stargazer Lillies in my wedding bouquet ~ lovely!

And I actually prefer mountains, rolling hills, lakes, countrysides, old cities to the beach. Call me crazy, but I'd rather traipse around Europe than go to Cancun or Hawaii. (probably in the minority here...)

Have a Happy Thursday, Jen!

Tiger Lilies are my all time fav. They grow will all over the countryside in upstate NY and PA.

Truths?
I'm in good company with misery when I'm sick.

Road trips solve writer's block on a 99% avg. for me.

Love rainy days for writing sad melancholy chapter in the WIP.

Truths. I love gray rainy days--they give me a pleasant melancholy. I love thunderstorms--they give me boundless energy.

I love shoes too.

Truth? I'm a compulsive hand washer. All about the sanity. Or is that insanity...?

I LOVE the beach but the beach I love is on the east coast. From New Jersey down to North Carolina- I'll take it all. My husband's roommate in college always played the "would you rather" game and asked the grossest things. It was hilarious.

My truth today: I always have to have my nails polished or else I feel gross. Like right now. They're not polished. And they're gross.

We have a few similar truths in common, Jen.

I enjoyed reading yours and as you said "A beach is a beach."

I'm even going to the Chicago lakefront to catch the waves in chilly and so NOT warm weather. Will this winter here ever end?

Ha! I have 7 pairs of shoes downstairs and it's driving my husband nuts!

Tamara Hart Heiner said...

I can agree w/ all these things! love flowers, beaches, fruity cocktails (go virgin! no buzz!), hate the shoes but am often a culprit!!!

anthony stemke said...

I agree with Gina, love to eat, metabolism failing me, and growing old sucks.

Jessica Bell said...

LOL! I have the same shoe problem!

Anonymous said...

Roses are my favorite flowers. No shoe problem, as I own very few pairs of shoes.
