Do you give credit where credit is due?
I love to thank people. I think it's the most rewarding thing in the world that often people forget about. From the person who allowed you to pull in front of them out of a gas station to someone who might of saved your life, all deserve kindness.
I always wonder at what point someone gives thanks. With the holidays approaching I know that we can get stressed out on gift buying, setting up plans for who's house you'll visit and how long you'll stay, but don't get rude in the process.
Yes, this does relate to writing...
When writing my stories I'll start by outlining, then writing, and then asking someone to beta read. Those people I keep close to home. I send chapters to those I trust and when they send their feedback I thank them immediately. Why wait until the acknowledgements when you'll be thankful so many times that you better start now because you'll never think it's enough!
When do you give thanks?

It's quite easy to get caught up in the daily grind, forget the little blessings that each day brings. Because each day really does bring blessings. We just need to close our eyes and ears, and open our hearts. :)
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Not enough! Thank you for being my blogging buddy! :)
Always and every day! :o)
Not enough! There are little ways to give thanks throughout the day. I'm reminded of the commercial (I forget what product they're advertising) where every good deed gets passed on. Someone opens a door for someone, that person helps someone else across the street, and so forth. I think little acts of kindness are a good way to remind ourselves to be thankful for the people in our lives by making someone's day a little brighter.
Lovely post.
Have you been to Michael Di Gesu's blog? He's hosting a contest and asks what we are thankful for about the blogging community. I waxed poetic about bloggers taking time to give advice and even read manuscripts, expecting nothing in return.
I always appreciate kindnesses in any form. At least, I hope I do.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I started thanking my critique partners before I even sent my first piece! Three writers willing to read my unedited crap? God bless them!
I love to thank people too! I think I thank people to the point of discomfort, lol. But sometimes words can not express exactly how grateful I am for them and what they've done for me. (And since words are my life, that's totally saying something!)
I try and rember all the time - I think it's so rude not to... However, I must admit, hand on heart, that there may have been occasions when I have been remiss... Then aplogies have to come into play.
I thank people for everything, just about. It's part of who I am. I'm with you - I will thank a beta before even opening the document they read. I mean, he/she took the time and effort to beta. Whether I agree with the comments or not, that's huge!
I thank my critique partners for even being willing to read it, and then when they send me feedback, I thank them before I even look at the feedback! And then I thank them after I read the feedback. LOL. I don't think we can give our CPs too much thanks--they are invaluable!
well said... I try to say thanks as much as possible
I try to remember to thank people as soon and as much as possible.
I try to give thanks as much as possible. I think it's important to remember all the ways we're blessed and show gratitude for them.
For one, right now ... thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog!
I usually give thanks in my head right away when something good happens. Or out loud or in an email when someone else is involved.

Giving thanks is a gracious act that makes me probably feel better than the person I've thanked. I try to say thanks frequently, but I'm sure it's still not enough.
I give thanks when I'm in the moment and it's on my mind. My life should always be in gratitude to God--I often forget, but I shouldn't ever.

Happy Thanksgiving!! my friend
LOVE this post. It's fun giving thanks, isn't it?? It's so important--at least in my viewpoint--to say thank you. Sure, it's about respect and manners, but yet it's so much more. :)
I try to give thanks at the moment they're deserved :-)
