Mondays tales from the notebook

Good Morning Bloggers!! Thank you for all of you still reading my blog, I guess dragon boy was wrong after all! So I've devised a plan... well sort of. I have a schedule that I may or may not follow, but at least you will all have some idea of what's in stores for the weeks to come! Thanks to Sandy Shin for showing me how to add color to my writing!!! So here's what's on the menu:

Monday:
Tales from the notebook - Sharing stories from my notebook
Writings on the wall - sharing my inspiration from my whiteboard

Tuesday:
Teaser Tuesday - I think you all know what this means
Tuesday Twist - Summaries of three novels I'd like to read or am reading.
Tube Tuesday - A fun video I make (more dragons vs. Talli Roland to come! LOL)

Wednesday:
Interviews
Fun reads/book reviews
insightful posts

Thursday:
Truth Thursdays

Friday:
Video Day - I'll showcase my own funky video!!! (Candyland we should do one together... and also make it so we are doing them every friday together!!! What do you say?)

Oh the possibilities! Let me know if you'd like to see anything else on the blog!!! But for now lets start the week off right...

Tales from the Notebook -

I was ten the first time Tommy told me about Mystic. We sat on the tire swings until our mothers called us for dinner.

"You can catch the falling stars" he said.

"You can't catch stars Tommy, they're balls of gass, you'd burn yourself" I said, clearly disappointing him. I hadn't intended to burst his bubble.

"You're wrong" he said.

I knew I was right, we'd just talked about it in Mr. Tucker's science calls the other day. Tommy had still seemed so matter of fact that I couldn't help but be a little curious.

"Prove it." I blurted out, I had surprised even myself but I'd figured what did either of us have to lose, maybe a little of his ego. I didn't think he'd actually take it any farther.

"After dinner" he said as he jumped off the swing. "bring a bag."

"A bag?" I asked, "Where are you going" I said as I too jumped off the swing.

"Speeding up dinner" he yelled running across the field "Bring a bag to catch the stars" he finished as he approached his front door.

How silly was this, I was going to eat dinner and catch falling stars, what a joke. He was so excited and yet I was still skeptical, when was he going to give it up? When was he going to quit joking around. I guess after dinner.

THERE YOU HAVE IT!!! Enjoy your Monday!!!

I love falling stars and used to stare at them all night long when I was a kid on the beach.

Thanks for the memories Jen!

And great color!!!

Great schedule! I made one of those vids this weekend too. But I don't know whether I should post it. Not sure people will understand my crude humour :-/ LOL

Jessica Bell said...

Actually I might email you and Candace the link and you two can be my judge. Watcha reckon?

Piedmont Writer - They are the best aren't they... and what if you could catch them?? That's what I thought!

The Alliterative Allomorph - Send it on over, I'll take a look! Though I'm sure it's great!!

Bish Denham said...

Oh, sounds great Jen! And why can we catch falling stars?

Crystal Cook said...

Jen, I LOVE this! I'm very intrigued :)

Cool new schedule btw. I look forward to each one!

Avo said...

I second Bish on this... Why can't we catch shooting stars? My butterfly net is ready and it's the best way to travel to other planets!

That sounds like a daunting schedule.
Looking forward to see what comes of it!

Unknown said...

Bish - Grab your bag and lets go!

Crystal - I'm glad! It's still in the works! Thank you, we will see how it goes!!

Alesa - Ooo a butterfly net, I thought it would be a good idea until I realized some of the stars would slip through, so if you're only looking for the big stars then you have the right equipment!

Possibly daunting, we'll test it out and see what happens!

Avo said...

Perhaps it's like fishing: you let the wee ones go and grow.

Though I'll let you in on a secret... I once caught a tiny shooting star in a tea strainer, took it home, gave it a home in my mind, groomed it, and fed it fiery dreams...
It's all grown up now and has left the nest. But every now and then comes back to visit.

Unknown said...

Hmm, quite the concept... letting them grow sounds very sweet...

A tea strainer, huh? You are very creative, lol! I'm sure now it's the brightest and biggest star now!

I love your schedule - I was thinking about posting about the very thing tomorrow. I'm hesitant to announce it to the world, though - since I'll probably never stick to it.

I love your story - I really want to see if they manage to catch a falling star. Will we get to read more?

Good luck on the schedule, Jen! I made the same pledge only a few weeks ago, remember? Um, yeah. So far I've stuck to my Melodramatic Mondays (one of which is posted today) and my Wee-Bit Wednesdays! I've done one Terrible Twos-day and have yet to attempt Three-Agent Thursday. However, I do have a great idea for Fridays that I plan on putting into effect very soon. And I'll even need your help for one of them! More details coming soon. ;) Ciao!

That sounds like a great, if busy, schedule. The last time I made a schedule for blogging, I broke it within the week. *fails* Best of luck!

Catching falling stars! So cute. <3

Love the idea to theme it out. "Truth Thursdays" might fall in line quite well with my "TMI Thursdays!!" Can't wait for that.

I loved the snipet. The interaction was really sweet.

xoxo. You're the best. :)

Vicki Rocho said...

wow a schedule? ...way more organized than I am! Truth Thursday...do we get to bombard you with questions? heh heh heh....

Unknown said...

Gina - The point is that you had a plan and you are sticking to it the best you know how! That's all that can be asked of you!!

Sandy - Haha, well I hope that doesn't happen to me, however if I choose to branch out I can, it's more or less just a stepping stone of ideas!

Christine - Thanks on both! I hope you like the new story as much as I do... it's a lot of fun to write so far!

Kimberly - Stars are beautiful, who doesn't love a little twinkle in the midnight air!

Palindrome - You are too sweet! Thank you!

Candyland - You've been emailed!

Amber - I'm not near as bold as you are, but I can certainly appreciate and LOVE what you do!!!

MissV - I'm better with structure!! Haha you can ask me anything you want... but it's more or less just random junk about me!

I love your blog menu (and your colors)! What a great idea! My blog is just whatever, whenever. I need to get organized one of these days.

Your excerpt was really cute! Reminds me of when I was younger. :D

that is quite a full schedule! You are so prolific!
Thanks for the warm feelings of falling stars. Cute.

Robyn said...

ohh I like the part where you are going to make weekly videos! I want to help! :O
ohh you could totally do interviews with bloggers, and record yourself asking questions, and then tell them what you're going to ask...and they could record their answers and email the files to you...or something awesome like that?
haha have a good day!

I love your schedule. I usually just sit down and go, hrm... then start typing! You're so organised!

T.J. Carson said...

LOved your sample and your blog schedule! I think a schedule helps keep you on track so you don''t forget to do stuff.

You should post more about catching stars bc I'm very curious how he is going to catch a star! Oh and i think minor spelling error...

"I knew I was right, we'd just talked about it in Mr. Tucker's science calls the other day." Calls, I think you meant class, but I could have misunderstood what this sentence was saying. But loved this post!!!!!!!!!! AND YES! More DRAGONS please!!! :)
