No Pants... Scared them right off of ME

Don't worry, during this entire post I will keep my pants on. I promise.

What better way to get closer to the end of the month that I share the top Haunted attractions around the world (or the first few I could find!)

The Top 13!
1. The Bates Motel & Pennhurst Asylum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
2. Erebus Haunted House, Pontiac, Michigan
3. 13th Gate Haunted House, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
4. The Darkness, Creepyworld, & Lemp Brewery, St. Louis, Missouri
5. The Beast & Edge of Hell, Kansas City, Missouri
6. Headless Horseman, Poughkeepsie, New York
7. Netherworld Haunted House, Atlanta, Georgia
8. The Cutting Edge Haunted House, Dallas, Texas
9. Kersey Valley Spookywoods, Greensboro, North Carolina
10. Asylum/13th Floor Hanted House, Denver, Colorado
11. The Dent Haunted Schoolhouse, Cincinnati, Ohio
12. House of Torment, Austin, Texas
13. Nightmare on the Bayou, Houston, Texas!

Can you believe it??? Houston made the list?! Is your state on the list? Ever been to any of these? Care to add to the list?

Sadly, my state is not listed and double sad is the fact I have seen none of these.

I've never been to any of these place, but it would be something to visit them. :D

I can't . . . I won't! Actually I've been to number 5. Totally scary and I hated it.

I'm disappointed that your pants are on. I can't say either way whether mine are, or not.

I want to visit some of these. I love haunted places.

I went to the local on in ames, Ia. It was so scary I almost strangled my much shorter friend by yanking on the hood of her sweatshirt and bailing.

I'm part chicken, so I'll probably have to make a list to make sure I don't inadvertently stumble upon something scary. (Big suck!)

I notice that Texas is the only state to have three places in the top 13. Way to go TEXAS!

ATX! Represent! :)

Woohoo, Philly! Never been to either of those haunted attractions, though. I'm a scaredy-cat. Even the cheesy haunted hayrides and houses scare the pants off me so I'd probably die of fright at one of these places!

I'm scared just thinking about this! And your post made me giggle, because in the UK, pants = underwear. So I was picturing you the whole time not wearing underwear! Well, not picturing... you know I mean! hehe!

Hope you're going to the Houston one! Enjoy it doubly for both of us!

Whoa, the Dent Haunted Schoolhouse (Cincinnati) is like two miles from me--and I've never been to it. Have driven past, tho, when the shuttles were taking people back and forth from the field where they park. Looks like a madhouse from the outside--don't think I want to go in the inside!!

Noooooo! You left off Sleepy Hollow, NY????? It's Halloween central.

And the Headless Horseman rides!

I've never been to any of these places, but ooh, maybe I should try the Houston one someday. When I can muster up enough courage, that is. :D

Not only is the state I grew up on the list. I used to go to the movies in Pontiac, Mi cause it's that close to where I grew up. I never knew I was that close to a scary haunted house!

I've never been to any of those places. Although, I'd like to see the headless horseman one. I've always loved the story of Ichabod Crane.

Sounds facinating. :-)

Still never been to a haunted house--I went to a cheesy one when I was little, but I don't even think I was scared, so that doesn't count.

Not sure I want to go.... lol.

I haven't been to any of these places, but now you've inspired me to look up haunted attractions in my own area for hubby and I to check out. Thanks! :D

Poughkeepsie wasn't too far from me in New York. Nothing in Massachusetts. I did live close to the Amityville house in New York. I can't believe that's not on the list. I drove by it once or twice.

ooh I love this post! Wish there were places like this in Vancouver :(

Eek, I hate haunted places ;p But, I'm from the Kansas City area and used to go to all the haunted houses there when I was in high school- including The Beast and The Edge of Hell. There are a ton of haunted houses under the 12th Street Bridge there and they're pretty famous, I guess. I never thought they were that famous... I haven't been in so long, I wonder if the rat guy still eats real dead rats in front of The Beast? (at least thats what it looks like he's doing)

Funny you should mention Pennhurst Asylum, a friend of mine is going there sometime soon. I've never been.

as far as houston goes, just driving around is scary, heck it doesn't even have to be dark outside.

Okay I'm off to the next blog, I don't have long

I love haunted places! I'll have to check these out (online, that is). Too bad California isn't on there. But then again, i'm not sure if we even have haunted attractions around here.

I'm going on another ghost hunt next month though. At least we have some unknown haunted places nearby.

What? Utah didn't make the list? LMAO! Sleepy Hollow cemetery in NY would be a good one. I drove by it once... also, was just in the cemetery in Salem, MA (check out the spooky picture on my blog!!) where we even saw the crew from "Ghost Adventures" filming! If the "professionals" are there, it must be a good HAUNT destination!

I love a good scare! :)
