E is for Eeep!!!

Eeep! - A sound of shock, usually said in a stupidly high voice

I love using my stupidly high voice to show all of you that I'm super excited!!! Today is Tuesday... yes I realize you knew that but I wanted to let you know I'm excited! Tomorrow I am packing for my trip to Los Angeles to see a friend get married! I'm super excited and looking forward to being in the wedding and watching her walk down the aisle!!! Eeep!!

Okay so today's word I have chosen to be EDEN... definition: any place of complete bliss and delight and peace

So what better way to describe my Eden then to show pictures of the different places that give me the delight and peace!! Okay I'm eager and excited to get started!!!

The Beach - of course a fantastic place to stay and really enjoy the relaxation!

Massages are something that I enjoy!! They are so exhilarating and serene!

I think that possibilities are endless when you're in a field of flowers!

Sitting under a nice shady tree, a jacket on a wonderful book and a cozy blanket during the fall months are a perfect way to enjoy a nice lazy day.

Last but certainly not least is an awesome bookstore! This one is elaborate and grand I love it! I'd love to visit it someday... if of course I had any idea where it was!

So what is your Eden? Do you have multiple places that you find peaceful?

One Eden I like to visit is my back porch which is nice 'cause it's so handy. Another would be the beach which I get to go to every year. A huge library would be another and probably the Smithsonian.

Really nice, Jen! I love your choices for Eden. I'm more of an active vacationer - so Disney World works for me. But, upscale Disney all the way! Though I do love your bookstore...By the way, thanks for stopping by my blog!

There's a little beach along Long Island Sound we go to that would definitely rate as my Eden! It's a peaceful spot, picturesque and quiet, where we spend time every summer. If I had to pick a place to go for a little Eden, that would be it :)

Morning Jen, thanks for sharing. Beautiful photos, especially that bookstore.

For me Eden is in the mountains, especially snow capped peaks with sweeping views of the surrounding country.

Shameless self promotion (I know you've already visited Jen, so this is for your followers):

If you have time please stop by, read and comment on my guest post for today over at Justine Dell's blog:

It's an interesting topic that will hopefully spark some discussion.

Thanks!

The mountains are beautiful as well! Since spring was around the corner I figured vacation spots in the carribean would fit the feeling I had lately!!!

Justine is awesome and your guest blog rocked today!

My Eden is definitely my childhood swimming hole, way up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where the Chestatee River broadens out and interacts in really interesting ways with the mountain's granite. It formed awesome pockets of deep water that me and my brother and cousins would swim in all summer. I try to go back every once in a while...

Hmmm, my Eden would be in that first picture - only one villa, though, sitting on the porch with a laptop.

Have a great trip!

Very creative uses for the letter E!

How I "ENVY" (another E word) you, going to LA. I went there 2 years ago and fell in love with the place.
My place of Eden would be in Spain called Benalmadena, I lived there for 3 years before returning to the UK. The pace of life is slower, it's sunny and warm and the people are friendly.

Enjoyed your blog, have a good time in L.A and best wishes to the Happy Couple.

Yvonne.

Great pictures! Umm, my Eden would be a writing room in an upstairs bedroom in a farmhouse way out on the prairie. That, or someplace looking out over Central Park. Or the forest. I can't decide!

Have fun at the wedding!

Beautiful depictions of Eden. For me I guess it would depend on the season and who was there, but I do love the mountains.

Have a nice trip to L.A. Right now the weather is just right. Hopefully we won't have any earthquakes like we had this past Sunday.

Beach, massages, travel, libraries and bookstores...all eden for me too.
Mountains, lakes, boating, surfing, all awesome, as well.

But anywhere, in my husbands arms, is heaven and home.

I know, that was mushy. But true.

Have a blast on your trip!
Love,
Lola
PS--Oh yeah, you are SO in my wolf pack!!

My Eden? Hmmm..my friends live out in the boonies...their place is remote enough but not too remote! It is a wonderful place to go to just have some peace and quiet, to kind of get away from the sounds of the city! Also sometimes my Eden is taking a walk and listening to soothing sounds on my Mp3...Following you now found you thru this challenge!

OMG!! The colors on your blog today are GORGEOUS and inspiring!! My personal Eden is the the Rhone Valley in Provençal France. In the summertime, the air carries a mixed scent of wild herbs that grow along the road and the Mediterranean Sea. There are fields of sunflowers that stretch to the horizon, butt up next to endless rows of lavender. (*sigh*)

Have a happy and safe trip. Angels around you.

We like Kiawah, Island, South Carolina. They have a hard packed sandy beach which is 12 kilometers long with beautiful, estates along the ocean front. We enjoy riding bikes for hours!

All of these are wonderful...
Yes the bookstore is DEFINATELY one of my Edens. Also, my room, under beautiful (cloudy) sky, and on the beach!

P.S. Have fun in Los Angeles! :)

My Eden is Ocracoke Island, NC. It's a tiny little island on the outer banks. It was where Blackbeard liked to hang out when he was on the eastern seaboard!

Hope you have a GREAT trip.

Mary Aalgaard said...

That bookstore DOES look like Eden. I'm drooling right now. I could very happily get lost there.

I'm finally accepting your award, officially, on my blog today. Many thanks and enjoy the wedding!

Paul - Thanks so much for the visit!! South Carolina is gorgeous!!

Abby - Thanks!! I'll take pictures! Oh I'm glad you love your room!!

B. Miller - That sounds fantastic! I've only driven through North Carolina and I was tired so my view is definitely jaded from the visit!!

My Eden would definitely be on an island or somewhere close to a sea/lake/river/stream! I love water!!

LOVE!

What a beautiful blog post! I love the idea of "Eden". My Eden would be several of the same places you listed... I love being out in nature and love being around books as well. Maybe my Eden would be lying on a soft blanket under beautiful trees with a good book, a journal to write notes in, and a glass of sweet tea. :)

My Eden is standing at the ocean's edge, feeling it rush over my feet as I sink deeper into the wet sand. Seagulls cry to each other overhead, a boat in the distance drifts by, and in that moment: peace.

Hoping to move closer to my Eden in the near future. :o)

My eden is imagined. And right now I'm imagining groans from all the writers at the cliche. Thinking about places I'd like to travel and what my dream house would look like are both fun and relaxing activities I love to indulge in although if I'm not careful I can lose large chunks of time that way.

My eden is the changeable coastline, an isolated house near a stream nestled in a deciduous forest on a mountainside or just lying in a big bed with squashy pillows beside someone special (this alternates between a partner, a child and a dog- I'm not sure what that says about me).

Talli Roland said...

EEP right back at you! Have a great time at the wedding!

My Eden is wherever I'm warm, dry, reading a good book or spinning a tale.

Funny, that bookstore looks a lot like one of my favs in London, called Daunt Books (http://www.dauntbooks.co.uk/virtual_tour/pano4-0.html). I love it there!

Kristin Rae said...

Lovely!!

I have lots of Edens I think... a farm, a big empty sheet of ice to skate on.. by myself, my parent's pool in July, Winter Park, Colorado in January... sigh.

Unknown said...

My Eden would be travelling to Europe with my family. Everyone would be happy, my teens would want to hang out with me. My nine year old would be super sweet. Everyone would be interested in seeing the same sights as me and the kids would appreciate great cuisine. Okay, who am I fooling, this is a fantasy.

Back to reality, I have lots of Edens. I enjoy hanging with my family, sitting on my porch and writing on a mild fall morning, enjoying a gorgeous sunset with my hubby, and last but certainly not least, is a gourmet meal finished with a chocolate dessert.

BTW, the bookstore is awesome. If you ever find out its location, you must share it with us.

All the best

I love that E is for Eep!

And for Eden as well... One place I always think of as Eden is Garmisch, Germany. MJ and I went there on my R&R from Iraq -- after seven months in the world of tan and sand, it was so GREEN and refreshing. New Zealand and Easter Island were my two other Edens that I've found traveling -- gorgeous!

My other Eden is my own house. I travel constantly for work -- I love just being at home in my beautiful house!

Mariah Irvin said...

Wow. That bookstore would be my Eden! My other one is Capri, Italy. It's so gorgeous there!

Alissa Grosso said...

All of your Edens look pretty nice. I have a favorite spot in the woods where a stream runs through the trees and I always say half-jokingly that when the world comes to an end in some sort of plague like in Stephen King's The Stand, but I am still alive, then I am going to go there and build myself a log cabin. Okay, the rest of the world dieing in a plague doesn't sound like Eden, I guess, but it is a nice, tranquil spot in the woods.

I love that library!

What a pretty blog! But all you A-to-Z-ers are making me feel like a slacker. ;)
My Eden...is at a park near our house, on a picnic blanket, under a maple tree, next to a rushing stream...cuddling with my husband and babies. Ahh, happy. :)

For me it's being surrounded by nature :o)

I really loved that bookstore and wanted to visit it, then the let down..you didn't know where it was. My Eden is sitting in my conservatory at home in Ireland, sipping a good hot cup of Irish tea no matter the weather and reading a wonderful book!
