O is for Out of Ideas

Good Morning fellow bloggers!!! Happy Saturday!!!

Today's word/phrase: Out of Ideas

Yep that's me, I am having the same problem as yesterday where I am out of ideas, I hate the feeling, I feel helpless and frankly a little frustrated but I know that in time everything will fall back into place. I think all those sleepless nights and vacation time has finally caught up to me.

So this post is simple and sweet, instead of being trapped in the blogger world or writing world since I have nothing to say I'd say it's best to go Outdoors, enjoy some sun, or rain whichever Houston decides to produce and hopefully the ideas will start flowing again!!!

What do you do when you've run out of ideas?

I usually end up cleaning my filthy house (or reading blogs!!)

Cleaning house works for me. Going outside is good, too. Just getting away from it all is always good! Have a great weekend!

If cleaning my house was the only other option, I'd come up with ideas pronto. lol.

I tend to do lots of research when I can't think of anything to write. That often triggers a 'what if?' moment that builds from there.

Hey, I just wrote a similar post on my blog, but about being out of ideas with my WIP. What am I doing instead of writing? Catching up with my blog reading. :) Maybe I'll run across something inspiring.

I've just left the worst writer's block of my life behind and now find myself with four ideas that desperate want me to write them. Who knew that could happen? I did it by lying on my bed, listening to music and going through all the weird questions I've wondered about over the years.

Mostly they were "what if" questions about life, the universe and everything. I thought of a concept I was curious about, and bam, in came the stories.

I realx and listen to music, as I write poetry I can sometimes (vary rarely) write a poem from a song title.though most of my poems are from life's expereiences.
Or think about what goals I would like to achieve in the future.
something always turns up sooner or later,

Enjoy your week-end

I try not to think about it to much. The ideas will come back again - I'm sure of it! Get outside and do something fun and they'll be flowing. Maybe a cheeky glass of wine or three? :)

Do something different - it's much better than stressing over it. I also like to head outdoors, it's amazing what a little fresh air will do.

Like you, I like to go outdoors. Or I like to drive. Taking a different route to my normal places can inspire new ideas. Or I may just drive a gravel road, stop, and stare at a farmhouse for awhile. A story is always going on behind a door. Maybe if a peak in the windows for awhile I will start to see it unfold.

I do some free writing, clean the house, go shopping, anything different just to get a better perspective. I always try and remember too, that tomorrow is another day.
Have a good weekend,
Karen

When I'm out of ideas, I usually listen to music. It helps clear my mind, and sometimes I'll hear a song that will trigger something relevant to either writing or blogging. Then I turn the music off and start making notes about whatever I'm going to write. :)

Hope you get ideas soon, babe!

I read a book, listen to music, or watch a movie. Even better, I do what you're doing, I get out and live a bit. There's always something inspiring beyond my four little walls.

When I'm out of ideas, it's usually because I'm tired and run down. I like the advice to go out and enjoy the day. Before you know it the world around you will jump right out and inspire you!

I normally watch dramas, listen to music, or just read books and just wait and let the ideas come to me. :)

Have a great weekend!

I normally whine for awhile, then I watch a movie or read a book. You never know when a plot will inspire you.

I also think about interesting people I've met -- what there stories are -- and try to get some big lightbulb to go over over my head from their experiences.

Gosh, I hate it when that happens! But you have lots of great ideas! maybe you're just feeling a little burned out?

Something that helps me is to re read books that kind of lit the fire in me to write. You know those books you read and your just like "Wow!! I want to write like that!!"

Or long drives in the car. . .

Or insane amounts of chocolate :) :)

Best of luck Jen, you can do it, the ideas will be poring into your head in no time :)

First of all, I take a nap, because that always helps! :) Then I get away from writing for awhile. A day or two always gives me some perspective. Good luck! Don't worry, it will come back!

It's a blessing and a curse, but I have never run out of ideas. I have more than I will ever be able to write about. So my problem is picking one and sticking with it!

You know, some of my best ideas have come from 3 places: the shower and that moment just as I'm about to fall asleep. And, also, I can't tell you how many times ideas have flooded my mind as I'm reading or watching a movie.

I hope you ideas come back to you!

I get outdoors.
There is nothing like getting outside to get ideas flowing again.

This phase will pass. When this happens to me, I do just about anything else until I get some ideas.

Also, I have a blog award waiting for you.

Yes going outdoors is great. Clears the head :o) It's lunchtime Sunday here and is a beautiful autumn day. We've been collecting firewood.

I try to go back over my travel pictures, notes I took, or old notebooks.

I don't know if I've ever truly run out of ideas, but when I need a bit of inspiration I might read the newspaper, peruse the dictionary, go someplace like a mall, listen to music, or tackle a mess and start sorting stuff. But "out of ideas" was a pretty good idea, so there you go.

I hope the outdoors have started those ideas back up. :)
When I'm out of ideas? Um, I stare at my notebook and start asking myself questions about whatever the problem is. Sooner or later the answers coverge into a way forward. :)
...although, honestly, I tend to be the type of person who has too many ideas and needs to learn to focus. ;)

Oh I have those times. Long runs always help me. And if it's raining sometimes just pulling out a good book gets my creative juices going.

I do laundry, clean, take walks, listen to music. Sometimes it's just a transition phase. Hope it ends soon and don't stress out about it too much. Take care!!
