saturday quiet time

I woke up this morning feeling fantastic and fresh, my husband however did not. He is not feeling well and is still resting. We don't make a habit of sleeping in, more or less because we wake up to early to do so! However with him currently sleeping that leaves me plenty time to do what I want.

There are so many options I don't even know what to choose!!! I of course have chosen to read blogs, one of my new favorite things to do! Sex and the city is on in the background, what can I say I can't get enough of that Carrie Bradshaw! I plan on writing a letter to a friend, I haven't hand written a letter in years but when I recieved one in the mail yesterday I loved it and though I'd return the favor! I also have several books I'd like to read so that will most likely take up quite a bit of time as well!

What are your plans for Saturday? It's cold here in Houston,TX so staying inside is first on the list, I know some of you have snow though... are you going sledding?!

My hubby sleeps in every day and I work from home, so I always have lots of quiet time every morning after the kids go to school. I write, blog, waste time on facebook--all the fun things I like to do so that I can devote my time to him when he's awake.

Today I'm at a writing conference with lots of my favorite writing friends. Hubby is home taking care of the kids. :)

Painting is on my list and working on a snippet of something I wrote last night.

We're stuck inside because of the snow; I'm really hoping the mail gets through, because I'm expecting two more discs of Supernatural from Netflix! Otherwise, hubby is doing homework, and I'm going to write some.

I'll be taking some time to read & comment fellow bloggers as well as maybe write a few school papers.

enjoy your relaxing day! I'm working tonight, but right now I'm reading blogs while my husband is running around cleaning. Okay...I feel kind of guilty, guess i should get off my butt and clean too.

That sounds like my typical Saturday morning -- MJ is a night owl, so I wake up first and have a few hours to myself in the AM. I usually take the time to write, or do homework/housework if I really need to... although sometimes I eat cookies for breakfast, read blogs and watch girlie movies instead. Sometimes, you just need a break!

My plan today is to paint our half-bath, shop for some house stuff, and give myself a pedicure.

No sledding. :)

I did go shopping, though. :) Bought myself a really swanky blouse. I can't wait to wear it!

Yesterday I planned to experiment with making crepes. So that's what I did today. They turned out much better than I had hoped.

I love doing absolutely nothing on Saturdays. Just having a break is so nice :)

There's been plenty of snow here in Calgary. But we're not stranded. I ended up going out for lunch and then writing while I watched a lot of Olympic coverage! I love the Olympics. :-)

Lots of snow here, too, but we didn't go out this time, just hung out, watched movies, did laundry, played with the kids. We did go out for Chinese food Friday night to celebrate my big girl's awesome report card. :)

I need my quiet time in the mornings so I do everything in my power to keep The Boyfriend sleeping a little bit later. I creep around the house, drinking coffee, reading the news (in English!!) and usually with a Sex and the City dvd on in the background too =)
