A to Z Bloggin, yup I've decided to take the plunge and join all my fellow bloggers for the challenge. I will choose a letter each day and do my best to keep you entertained! I know I'm late so A-C I'll have to pass but we can pick up at D. Here we go:
D is for Da Bomb Diggity also to mean You're cool, you're the best or you're just plain awesome! Which is so true of any blogger who visits me! Now since there isn't really much else to go from here I figured the next best thing is to choose a more appropriat word to talk about... but the fun catches more people's eyes!
My actual word: Dabble
I love to Dabble in several areas of life this is also true for my writing. I love to dabble in different genres to see which best suits me. Before I began to write this young adult mystery/magical novel I started with chick lits. I read one too many Susan Elizabeth Phillips books who actually inspired a lot of my writing in the first place! Each genre gives me a little more inspiration and a different outlook on my writing style. I can tell you I'll most likely always end up back at YA because I do love to write it and definitely in the mystery/magical sense as well it just allows my imagination to run wild and I love it!

Definitely a dabbler here! I do write commercial fiction, but I also have a music/memoir manuscript, and of course there's my blog dabbling ;)
Personally I don't dabble in other genre's (or at least I haven't yet), but is sounds like fun, maybe I'll give it a whirl.

I love the word dabble, too. I started with YA fantasy. Jumped to YA urban fantasy. Now I write YA contemporary. Oddly enough, these changes reflect what I'm into reading at the time. Go figure. I also dabble with different topics on my blog--as you know. And now I'm going to dabble in a few more new things there. Gotta to love dabbling.
Okay, I just wanted to know how many times I could use the word dabble here. ;)
Up until a few months ago I'd say I'm not much of a dabbler. I've written plenty of non-fiction articles and essays, but my first love is women's fiction. However, I did just write a children's book that I pulled out from who knows where.
So, yes I am a proud dabbler.

In original fiction, I have stayed with thriller/suspense with some romance thrown in, but in fanfiction, I've dabbled quite a bit. I've done the hot sexy story, the comedic one, and lots of angsty stories. It's fun to change gears.

I am Queen Dabbler. Probably the only genre I haven't written is horror, and that's only because I'd scare myself too badly. I even dabble in written forms: novel, short story, microfiction, prose, poetry, essays. It's good to diversify. :-)

I love to dabble in other genres. There's no better way to stretch your own style and to write outside your genre comfort zone! And seriously, Jen, you're Da Bomb!

Every time another author asks, "What do you write," I start feeling like I don't want to pin it down to just one genre. Maybe now I'll say I'm a dabbler. Fun post!
I used to dabble, but then once I figured out I love writing YA, I haven't jumped into anything else. =)
I definitely Dabble. Sometimes I wish I'd just stick to one thing and not go off in so many scattered directions. I need a drill sergeant next to me, yelling. "Finish that @$*# book, Saia!
I do dabble, dabble I do. :) It's nice every once in a while to see what it's like on the other side.

I publish under a half a dozen names in fiction and non-fiction -- I just go with whatever interests me and whatever supports the story best.
I am the ultimate anti-niche and deeply believe in the importance of being able to read, write, and enjoy a wide range of genres.

I tried dabbling but sadly it didn't work out too well as I got slated (rightfully so) when I tried to write YA! I'm happy where I'm at, though!

Yes, I dabble. I dribble too, would that make me a...drabbler?
DAbble? Yeah, sometimes it feels as though that's all I do!
I write YA too...although I've been downgraded (age-wise) to tweens! Apparently I write YA in the style it was when *I* was a teen, which was back in the dark ages, otherwise known as the 80s. YA now is edgy and darker...and I write light and "Sweet Valley High"-ish. So that's tween now...meant for 12 year olds. I feel old!
Anyway, it's great to meet you! I'm following now.
Oh, I totally dabble. I read a lot of different genres, so I'm not really committed to just one style of writing, though I think I've found my home in contemporary romance. For now. We'll see. Fun post, Jen!

I stick to middle grade, but I did make a switch from historical/literary to adventure this last time and I was surprised at how much fun it was.
I laughed at "Did you know that your da bomb diggity"..haha...I love that line!.

Dabble. Love that! I read lots of different genres but I go through phases, which may happen with my writing in the future. At the moment I'm YA all the way. Maybe I should adopt that as a motto:)

Wow, great word. I like to dabble in most things, but as far as genres go, I stick to YA. I do go from paranormal to historical fantasy to dystopian fairly easily though, so maybe I dabble?? Yeah, maybe.

I'm a DD. Dabble dud. AS soon as I try to write anything out of the warped genre, I completely fall flat on my face. BTW...cool blog.
I've tried to dabble in many different genres (mystery, romance, paranormal, fantasy, etc.), but everytime I did so, I thought I was writing in my own genre... so I'm not sure that counts? Though I experiment very little. Definitely need to change that!
LOL, great word to pick out!! :) I like to dabble--not in my genre of writing, but in my experiences in life. Then I can transfer what I learn by dabbling into my writing, which is pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.
I don't think I'm much of a dabbler, though I have evolved a bit. I used to do mid-grade, but now YA's my true love. I used to think I'd write ghost stories, but I only wrote one before becoming a fantasy-junkie. And I never thought I'd write romance, but pretty soon I realized a little bit of romance was working its way into everything I wrote, so finally I just surrendered and now I'd classify my wip as paranormal romance.
I do lots of dabbling. Actually I just finished reading an old Victorian Gothic novel, Uncle Silas. I don't know if it will have any influence on my own writing, but at least for a few days I found myself randomly talking in the style of a Victorian-era servant. I think I need to dabble in something a little more contemporary next.
