I is for Ikea
Who doesn't love IKEA? Okay so I have to be honest here, I'm from Iowa and they don't have IKEA there but as soon as I moved to Houston the first thing everyone told me was to visit IKEA (and eat barbeque but that isn't important!) this is like a Mall for any interior designing you need! I love that place, my whole apartment is furnished by the wonderful gods of IKEA! So if you haven't visited this wonderful land of awesomeness you must check it out!!! (I received nothing for this advertisment... though I should have!)
My real word: I is for Imagination!
This one was super easy right?! I know I kind of cheated I could have done Ice Cream, illegal, important, independence, insult or intrigue but none of them felt like me so I imagination it was!
I wish the world was filled with people that have the imagination that we all had! Everyone could pick up a book and picture that they were actually in the world and living as the main character, unforutnately the world isn't filled with imagination, the older some people get (NOT ALL OF US) the less and less they believe in things. I mean I still believe in Santa, the Tooth Fairy & the Easter Bunny but some people believe they never existed... isn't that the saddest ever?! Thanks to my imagination I was able to write my first draft and have such inspiration that a sequel is under way with even more magic than I could have ever imagined!!!
How's your imagination?!
Also I promise I'm coming home and will comment on your blogs!!! I still love comments even though I've disappeared and all of those who comment will for sure get some blog love when I get back into town!!!

I love IKEA! It totally rocks. As does imagination. I hope you're having a great time and we'll see you when you get back. :)
What a fun post! I love IKEA -- even just walking through without buying anything is fun -- but I love my imagination even more. I'd say I'm pretty much never bored, considering all the things I think up.
Miss you, and hope you're doing well! :)
IKEA is a furniture wonderland, that's for sure. I do kinda have a love/hate relationship thought, because not all their stuff is particularly well-made (hence the prices). I've only been once, because the nearest one to me is down in Atlanta. Not my favorite place to go.
My imagination has kept me company my entire life. I still have somewhat child-like moments of pure imagination when I see or feel something that stirs that well of creativity deep inside. I can only hope that I'll never lose it.
Hi Jen!
visiting from Jayne's neighborhood and how thrilled I am to see Ikea!! Yay! I love Ikea! When they built one the first one in Utah, you couldn't even get in the first month it was so full of fans. Now it's back to normal, but still loads of fun!

I... don't think I've even been to Ikea before, which is really sad. *must rectify*
I love my imagination (and others')! Life would be so much duller without it. :]
There's an Ikea about 30 miles from here, but, confession: I've never been! Maybe some day ...
Enjoy your weekend away, I hope it feeds your writing imagination!
I've been to Ikea a few times. Love it and I'm not a shopper kind of girl.
As far as imagination goes, I'd be so bored without one. I told my kids I can't ever remember being bored, at least not in a situation I controlled. There are times where you have to pay attention to something boring, but for the most part, I'm never bored and it's all because of my imagination.
I love IKEA. We just got one last summer? Anyway, I can leave my 3 year old in the kid care and write for an hour in the cafe part. Then I get him and we have lunch there. Love it!
We don't have an Ikea in Kentucky, but there's one a few hours away and I have been itching to take a day trip there! I definitely have to go!
Life is boring without a little imagination!! ; )
My imagination is alive and kicking. It never stops working, even when I don't want it to!
I love Ikea as well! Great bed stuff... my pillows and sheets and blankets are all from Ikea. I also love eating at their restaurant when I visit. Yay Lingonberries!
I'm beginning to think my imagination is a little perverse. It does have its lighter, more fantastical moments though. I'm sure I wouldn't trade it for no imagination at all.

Oh how I LOVE Ikea! There's something about the world of possibilites for your home, all the things you never even knew existed as you wander through that never-ending loop looking for that 200-pack of tealights you came in for!
IKEA is one of the best places ever; Even my kids agree. Love it!
You said it, who doesn't LOVE Ikea?? I love that paint brush image, too. So colorful!
Have a great weekend!
I have never been to IKEA but would love to go sometime..not sure there is one around here...the paint brush is awesome by the way! Have a great saturday, I am following you now!
I have a VERY strong suspicion, that fairies, gnomes, elves and such life beings life the woods near our house.
I know for a FACT we have house fairies because things keep getting done: the dishes get washed, the bed gets made, the floors get swept etc. Hubby insists he hasn't done it, and KNOW I haven't...so there you are, proof that house fairies exist.
(I doing this A to Z challenge...better late than never, right?)
And obviously I did NOT proof my commment! LOL!
I've never been to an IKEA. I feel like a shopping freak. :(
Ikea Rocks ... too bad it's so far away now!
My dream is to furnish my playroom office in Ikea furniture. I cut everything out of the catalog and made a poster. When my advance check comes in...LOL.
I love the picture for imagination. And as for Ikea, we have none of those here. Sounds strange to have food and decorating in the same place, but then . . . someone was using their imagination, weren't they? Gotta love that.
Glad you're having a good time. Can't wait till you come back!
Never been to Ikea, but a co-worker who moved to Rural, Backwoods from Miami has said that I absolutely MUST go.
And yes, imagination is a must-have sort of thing that I would love to share. Too many people seem to exhibit no imagination at all! Would that the world was as crazy -- er, imaginative -- as me!
I love Ikea:)
As for imagination, I've lost count of the times I've been told off for daydreaming or scribbling down ideas when I should be doing something else. lol.
Wouldn't life be boring without overactive imaginations. :o)
Ikea is great place to get your imagination going! All those room scenes and all different people entering, conversing, and leaving them are a constant string of happening stories. Great post and great job on the challenge!
Who doesn't love Ikea? It's a magical place that's so wondrous you come out with 20 random household items when you only went in for a bookcase.
I love the european chocolate you can get at IKEA. You can get the nicest stuff that I thought I'd never have again after I moved from England. With the IKEA that opened close to me a few years ago it was a godsend.
Imagination, good word. Mine, probably like yours, works overtime most days. I can't help it.

I have yet to visit an Ikea... but I don't have my own place yet, so looking at furniture leaves me feeling weird. Wishing I had somewhere to put all the furniture I want, but at the same time glad I don't have to worry about rent and utilities and spending money on all that furniture.
Imagination is such a fantastic thing. And thanks for the word. I was trying to find one last "I" for my post and now I have it!
Hello! I just discovered your blog, and it looks really nice! I'll be following you:)
Actually, I find IKEA kind of boring. But I suppose having one in every town in the country makes it a bit too mundane for most Norwegians. Besides, it's Swedish, and we don't like Swedes:)
I love IKEA. We do not live near one anymore... So, so, sad. ):
Ikea is a lot of fun, but I really love Anthropologie. I know, it doesn't begin with I. :)
glad i found your blog - i'm a writer who loves ikea and lives in texas, too. looking forward to reading your work!
Imagination is so important for writers. But I love IKEA so you would have been good with either :)
I love IKEA! Even though I never find what I'm looking for and end up with tons of other stuff when I check out. And a hot dog. Can't go there and not get a $1 hot dog and soda!
I must be for imagination
it is what drives us
and inspires us
hey, that's another 'i' word :)
I LOVE IKEA!
I love Ikea! We were stationed in Germany for over 5 years and shopped at Ikea all the time. They have the best kid toys and seem to be pretty “green”. The closest one to us now is in Houston (3.5 hours) :(
I love Ikea.
Where would I be without my imagination? I'm so glad it's there.
We don't have Ikea here - sniff sniff.
Hooray for imagination - I do think writers were given extra big helpings, lucky us!
I loved this, I even saw an Ikea in Malaga Spain whwen I lived there.
Take care.
Yvonne,
I love, LOVE Ikea...and BBQ SO matters!!!!!!!!
I just adore that photograph of the brush in paint.
And I love how you do two words every day.
