Embrace the Chaos...

This blog is… well… what some would call chaos. I call it my multi-functioning ‘writing’ blog. I like to keep my options open.
There are days I want to tell you that I carry a magnetic troll in my purse for entertainment purposes. Or that time where I admitted I despise it when people lick their fingers. How about the fact that I get a ton of klout points because ‘cupcake’ trends like no other on my twitter account.

I’ve been told that your blog defines you. If that’s the case, well, I’m in trouble.

I chose the title Unedited (to be fair my husband did), but it was because it best described what the blog’s purpose would be. It is an unedited guide in both my daily life and my writing life.

I’m not a bestselling author, I haven’t won a Pulitzer, and Ellen still does not know my name.

I’m Jen. A now, multi-published short story e-book author. A girl who is about to purchase her first home. A girl who is about to embark on a journey through adoption with her husband. I am a writer who decided one day to blog about the chaos. And trust me, I’m not the only one.

Here are a few who are definitely in the sauce... oh, and available for your entertainment.

The Bloggess
Jenny From The Blog
Like the Vodka

Embrace the chaos.

What are you favorite blogs? What's the reasoning?

I think, of all the blogs I follow, I mostly enjoy the ones where they talk honestly and openly about their own life/writing. I find people blogging writing tips really, really useful, but I far more enjoy peaking into someone else's life (and realising I'm not the only writer that struggles with the things I struggle with!)

I think you're doing fine. I like Elana Johnson's blog for her short posts on whatever she's thinking about and Janice Hardy's for her writing craft posts. There are a lot of blogs I follow for various reasons.

I enjoy a blog in which I can get to know the person, and yours is great, btw. I'm not a scheduled blogger, either. I just do my own thing.

I think that your blog is just fine being unedited. As humans, we are multi layered creatures and so the variety of blog posts, reflects who you are in the real world. Don't change anything!

Your blog always has a lot of energy (and pictures of cupcakes!). It's pretty amazing to read all that is happening to you right now. Congrats on all that, Jen! It's exciting to see all this happening for you!

I love your blog, Jen! Any blog that holds my interest and has a friendly blog host is a favorite of mine. :)

Good luck with your new home and adoption! I'm excited for you!

I do so know your name!! Oh, wait, you meant THAT Ellen :)

I love Talli Roland's blog, I think she has the perfect mix of professional and personal. There are lots of others, but for the blend of writing and personal life, I think Talli has nailed it.

I like a blog where personality shines through. I like to know about their life and who they are (not in a stalkerly way) because that makes their writing journey more personal and relate-able.

Yay for chaos! That makes us human, I think. And your blog always makes me smile! Especially when you write about cupcakes. :)

I love a blog that never fails to put the author's spin on whatever they're talking about. I love to hear their 'voice' in it - even if it's just about writing tips or a book review. Yours does that.

I also love YA Highway and Literary Rambles, among many others.

Oh lady, your blog is as lovely as you. Insane, yes, but still lovely. : )
I guess any blog that writes sincerely (like your one) is a winner for me.

My favorite blogs give solid writing advice and/or book reviews. Some of my favorite blogs are Seeing Creative and Julie Musil's blog (I don't know the title).

Hey Jen! I'm just Alex.
I couldn't begin to pick my three favorite. I have three hundred plus blogger buddies that I visit on a regular basis and at best, I can narrow that down to a hundred.

I love Missed Periods and Other Grammar Scares. She's a professor like I am, but this girl turns English grammar into the funniest adventure.

Well, I know this, you're one of my favourite blogs. I make sure I visit all the time. You're always so peppy and keep me entertained.

I love the chaos. Love reading blogs. Write on, my friend. :)

Fave blogs? I have quite a few. One of them is this one. I enjoy the spirit. You're so fun. :) I like Alex J Cavenaugh's as well (though I can never remember how to spell his last name! LOL)

And book blogs. I like reading those to see what awesome books are releasing. Xpresso Reads, Uniquely Moi Books are a couple. :)

I enjoy most the ones that keep it real and fresh. They don't always post about writing. They post about life.

I veer not only toward the ones that I like, the humor, the voice but ones that are providing information I need. I read both kinds.

Nice blog. Thank you.
As someone interested in words, I thought you might like to look into the word play in cryptic crosswords (if you aren't already into them). I have been doing a series of posts about cryptic clues and how to solve them. This is the first one in the series:

Enjoy.
